The flyers were distributed earlier this week in the city, where pro-Russian separatists led by Denis Pushilin this month took over several government buildings and declared their secession from Ukraine as the Donetsk Republic amid a standoff with authorities.

The flyers were official-looking documents that carried what was presented as Pushilin’s signature, but the news site tvrain.ru on Wednesday quoted Pushilin as denying any connection to the flyers, calling them a provocation.

On Tuesday, the news website novosti.dn.ua reported that the flyers were handed out that day by three unidentified men in balaclava masks carrying a flag of the Russian Federation. According to the report, the men distributed the flyers next to a local synagogue. The website quoted unnamed sources from the local Jewish community as saying that the flyers were an attempt to provoke a conflict and blame the attack on the separatists.

Several anti-Semitic attacks, including a stabbing and the attempted torching of a synagogue, have occurred in Ukraine since the eruption in November of a revolution over the perceived pro-Russian policies of former President Viktor Yanukvych. He was ousted from power in February.

Many supporters of the revolution blamed pro-Russian provocateurs for the attacks.

The flyers in Donetsk said all Jews who are 16 years old and above should register at the government building, which separatist protesters are occupying, and pay a registration fee of $50 by May 3.

“Jews supported the nationalistic gang of [Stepan] Bandera in Kiev,” the authors wrote in reference to the Ukrainian Nationalist leader who in the 1940s fought with Nazi Germany against Soviet troops before he and his men took up arms against the German occupation.

The flyers also said Jews were hostile to the Donetsk Republic.

They were required to report any real estate and automobiles, the flyers also said.

looks like the uke meddlers from Toronto are busy spreading lots of disinformation in order to attempt to gain support from the ignorant western crowd who doesn't understand the real situation. TheCanadian Ukes , the Bandera crowd have been causing trouble from afar since WWI when they ran to Canada to escape their just punishment for collaborating with the German NAZI homicidal genocider murdering their own country men. Since then they have pushed a disastrous Orange Revolution and ignored the democratic process to install an exteme rightist and his rightist cronies in Ukraine.
And now are spreading more hate and disinformtion.Good for Crimea an Eastern Ukaine
for dumping that repulsive Nazi government from North America. time for NATO, the US and the Canadian NAZI supporting Uks to butt out.

NATO, AND THE USA need to butt out of the business of Ukraine. Ukraine is half-way around the world and has nothing to do with NATO or the safety of the world.

It is time that the world mind its own business and the USA stop collecting well-over 700 military bases and counting.

UKrainians and only Ukrainians who live in Ukraine have the right to decide what to do with their country. The wonderful west has no business interfereing and causing trouble for the Ukrainians and Russia when they don't have the slightest clue what is really involved and what the people want.

The last time I checked the Soviet Union itself tried evading other countries and establishing military bases around the world so stop crying over something Russia failed to achieve .

Hahaha!! And who are you to speak for Ukraine, you old, wrinkled commie. I wonder how many posters know your family history. How they were forced to leave Ukraine after beig placed there from Russia by the old KGB to spy on Ukrainian citizens.

Now that your Russian family are now dead, I guess you will shortly follow them, huh!!

Anti-Semitic fake from oligarch Igor Kolomoysky's henchmen

Donetsk People’s Republic is in no way responsible for the hideous anti-Semitic leaflet that is being passed off as a document issued in the republic’s name. A scanned copy of the fake document is below, followed by a translation.

The government of Donetsk People’s Republic represents a multiethnic community and does not tolerate any discrimination on racial, ethnic or religious grounds. The insinuations contained in the leaflet are absurd and unfounded. Members of the Jewish community are among the most active supporters of the Donetsk resistance movement.

This piece of heavy-handed propaganda was fabricated to sow the seeds of discord among the people of Donetsk region. It is a forgery that should not mislead anyone. We stand united and unshaken.

***

FROM THE HEADQUARTERS OF INDEPENDENT DONETSK REPUBLIC

TO ALL JEWISH CITIZENS!

In light of the fact that the leaders of Ukraine’s Jewish community supported the Banderovite [ultra-nationalist] junta in Kiev and were hostile toward the Orthodox Christian Donetsk Republic and its citizens, the Headquarters of Donetsk People’s Republic hereby decree:

All Jewish citizens over the age of 16 who reside on the territory of the sovereign Donetsk republic must register with the commissioner for nationalities before May 3, 2014, in the Donetsk regional administration building, office 514. The registration fee is $50.

In addition to $50 registration fee, everyone must bring their passport, where information about religious affiliation will be recorded, as well as official family records, title deeds for real estate and ownership documents for private vehicles.

Those who fail to register will be deprived of citizenship and forcibly deported. Their property will be confiscated.

People’s Governor Denis Pushilin

***

Once again we would like to stress that this is a crude forgery intended to deceive unsuspecting outsiders. Its spurious nature is exposed already in the heading, where the Donetsk People’s Republic is called “Independent Donetsk Republic”. The “document” is not signed. Denis Pushilin, whose name appears at the bottom, is not and has never been the republic’s governor.
This forgery was put together and circulated by Boris Filatov’s aides. Filatov is the official who suggested on his Facebook page that those Ukrainians who had risen up against the new government in Kiev should be hanged as soon as the situation stabilizes.

Filatov is a close associate of the oligarch Igor Kolomoysky. Following the coup in February, Kolomoysky was appointed governor of Dnepropetrovsk region by the illegitimate authorities in Kiev.

In addition to the slanderous anti-Semitic proclamation, Filatov’s henchmen fabricated another leaflet, a so-called “Manifesto of the Donetsk Republic”. It makes public, as it were, such outlandish initiatives as compulsory military service, all-out mobilization, imposition of new taxes on business owners, arbitrary confiscations of private property, introduction of a food rationing system etc. A scanned copy is below.

Both “documents” are poorly concocted pieces of defamatory propaganda. Their only objective is to shock outside observers and to misrepresent the aims and ideals of Donetsk People’s Republic.

The leaflet is obviously a fake. It says Denis Pushilin is the People's Governor. In fact, he has never been a governor. He is the Chairman of the Council. This mistake clearly demonstrates that the leaflet is a crude forgery.

Yes, he claimed he did not write it, though it is clearly signed by him.

And why did he ADMIT in that television interview that it was being distributed by HIS MEN?
