Hmm. Will definitely be watching that space.

This part of kamchatka is the part (Kliuchevslkio volcano group), that had the ~70m runout & bloody great big tsunami during the rebound/long duration, mercalli X (r/lx) earhquake of 1737. The 1737 r/lx did not actually reach Shiveluch. The area south to the N. Kuril arc was also hit by the 1737 r/lx as an arc runout (~13m) and overprinted by the r/lx of 1952.

Appears that the 1737 fracture set is now squeezing into Tolbachik bit by bit & will be interesting to watch. 1st fracture set produced the cinder cones of the last eruption, and apparently also a small Hawaiian caldera collapse @ the summit (difficult to be certain as it was soviet russian data).

Current eruption will be interesting.

Still no sign of anything from Ushkovsky following a small "pop" @ the summit cone in the 1800s or so.

Have a nice day: Ag

Damn I hate those predictive text typos on this wi fi linked library PC.

For Kliuchevlkio group read... "Kliuchevskoi group".
