So, why the US politicians

1. Declared war to Germany in 1943 when it was clear Germany will collapse?

2. Started their land operations in Europe in 1944 when it was clear the Russians could go through Berlin and spread all over Europe?

The answer is clear.

As you may well be familiar with... They have simply put into practice one of the fundamental principles of sheep herding. They sent their doggies out to set the path of the herd.
Also you are mistaken; Hitler declared war on the US, although this was only a formality by then, and land operations weren't feasable before 1944 as the Germans still held France. Ever hear of D-Day?

Of course land operations were not all right cos in 1943 the German army was still strong. Which is why the brave guys from the US decided to wait one more year and when the German army was weak, they landed...

I knew you weren't an Aussie. My grandfather fought along side with the Aussies, and even spent time with them in a Jap POW camp, I myself have worked with several Aussies, and Kiwis here in Alaska on gold mines, and you are no Aussie.

Aussie's remember who it was that stopped the Japs from advancing into Australia.

My guess is that your either a displaced Serb...and you type like a Serb also, or your some Russian immigrant who wouldn't go back to Russia to live in that sh*thole for all the money in Perth.

Save your sh*t comrade, becouse even your take on history is a joke. Most of the time you pull your facts right out of your arse. Next time try looking up some history before you look like a fool on here ...again.

Looks like you don't know geography as well. Look at the map of Australia and check where Melbourne is and where Perth is. It's several thousand km.

Secondly, if you go to Australia you will see that people do not remember Americans helping Aussie sin the WWII.

What they do remember is that you guys asked us to help in Vietnam war and after that we got thousands of mentally ill people from there. Recently on TV there were documentaries where our ex-soldiers told they could not realize the reason of that war and said SORRY to Vietnamese.

If you go here you will see that our government decided to withdraw troops from Iraq and not support crazy idiots who keep and keep going.

The main thing is that people do not care about the past, people think about the future. Which is why ordinary Aussies dislike Americans as well as the majority of people in the world.

Finally, when you guess don;t make too many errors. Guessing is an ability of experienced people. You are too young to guess...

If you want to continue and discuss the topic above, your welcome.

This is something I discovered several years back when I visited Australia. There is a certain distaste towards Americans in Australia, which I didn't expect. I thought the Aussie disliked the 'poms', but apart from the usual banter, there was no animosity. But the Aussies didn't liked to be seen as friendly to the Yanks.

I never experienced that with the Aussies I worked with, but on the other hand, when did a Aussie ever look further than their next beer?

"The question was how should we maneuver them into firing the first shot...it was desirable to make sure the Japanese be the ones to do this so that there should remain no doubt as to who were the aggressors."
- Henry Stimson, U.S. Secretary of War

Roosevelt did everything he could to anger the Japanese by halting trades, freezing Japanese assets, and aiding their enemies, which is against the rules of war. Three days before Pearl Harbor, Australia warned Roosevelt and he ignored it. Before Pearl Harbor, 83% of Americans wanted NOTHING to do with the war. Afterwards, 1,000,000 men signed up for the war.

Jealous of the USA, me?

You must be kidding. I don't envy anything from the USA.
Your country is utter emptyness: no soul, no culture, no morality.
Just greed, arrogance and consumerism.

Already enjoying Britain for its liberalism and France for hedonism, I'll envy Italy for its aesthetics, Russia for its soul, Germany for its culture or Norway for its serenity, but I never dreamt of envying anything American.

Straight? They are cowards killing kids by missiles from afar and weeping each time on TV they are caught by their fathers.
Example is his future president McCain.
He weeped on Vietnamese TV when he was caught after bombing kindergartens there.

The answer is clear.
I prefer to think of it this way:

What if the U.S. had never passed the Lend-Lease Act of 1940? What if the U.S. had fought only Japan, and not Germany? After all, Germany posed no immediate threat to the U.S. or its interests.

It's an interesting thought, because if that had happened, I'm betting that I'd be having these discussions with Germans right now. Russia would not exist, except possibly as some miserable Nazi puppet.

Germany declared war on the U.S. in 1941. But it could have been easily avoided. If the U.S. had not helped Britain and the USSR with Lend-Lease, the U.S. would not have had to fire a shot.

Germany was a threat to Russia, not the U.S. The American GIs didn't owe the USSR a damn thing, and it is too bad that the U.S. helped them.

You don't get it. It's easier for a moron to blame Russians for everything, because he doesn't want to look at the big picture. The people on top will always be in power and love to watch the little people fight amoung each other while they steal everything from them.

You're the reason so many people hate Americans. First you live in a state were mountain men are regarded as educated people. You then travel to other countries with a vision of a mountain type person.
You hate Russians because of your wife. You and your wife need to go back to her country and spread all the hate you want but you can't because you're a bonofide coward who wants to live under the security of the US. Have you gone to any Russian churches in Alaska and called out the Russians there to show them how brave you are. Have you gone to Sitka and called the Russians there all of your vile names. You hate Russians yet your living in a state which has numerous Russians and has long Russian origins.

Not only did the US not owe Russia anything durring WW2, Russia started WW2 with it's ally NAZI Germany, and even supplied it's WW2 ally NAZI Germany with fuel and raw materials in Germany's war against the ally's in the west.

The London Blitz...most likely those German planes were flying with the help of Russian fuel. Russia was the main cause the Germans beat the UK blockade of Germany for the fact Russia was delivering all those supplies via land.
