US based BAE Inc supplies antit-ank weapons to the Georgian army

BAE Inc in the US, a subsidy of BAE Systems Ltd, will supply anti-tank weapons to the Georgian army. The weapons that will be supplied is Bill 2 ATGW, the NLAW light anti-tank weapon and the anti-tank artilly shells, Bonus and Excalibur. The anti tank weapons are to delivered to the Georgian army during the 4th quarter 2008. The commander of the Georgian Land Forces, LTC Alexander Osepaishvili, says that "the new anti tank weapons will significantly increase the capabilities of the Georgian army. The new weapons are for self defence only and are not to be regarded as offensive". An obstacle has been that the weapons are developed and produced in Sweden by BAE Systems AB Bofors and Saab Systems AB, but by supplying the anti tank weapons through BAE Inc in the US, the Swedish government approves to the sales.

Just a couple of vacuum bombs to drop and all of thsoe georgians will drop their weapons, including anti-tank ones, and rush home.

Read reports from Gori where brave georgian army just left a lot of expensive modern weapons without even trying to protect their city.

Georgians lost all the air force, air defence and navy, all significant military stores.
Basically they sent the 1bln americans spent on their weapons down the toliet.
So i don't think there's a weapon in the world that can help them.

This forces were supplied with this weapons by Americans, they were trained by hundreds of American instructors during last 5 years. And what result they achieved? Georgia army with 30000 people was completely destroyed by 10000 Russian army in 5 days. There was huge amount of weapons that Russian forces simply taken away after Georgian forces run away and left it. Yesterday and today all the work of Russian forces was the evacuating of dozens of tanks, artillery systems, and more, more, more... So many weapons and they simply left it and run.

There was only poor civilians in Georgian city of Gori, all the troops left it, all the administration left it too. City's outskirts full of left artillery systems. Georgian city civilians asked Russian forces to help them and give them some food, because Georgia simply forget about this city and it's needs. And Russian forces had given them food...

That's so funny to read that after only one week. Now part of this weapons are destroyed, and other part are evacuating by Russian troops. Our soldiers doing loader's work now, instead of fighting. LOL

Maybe? But the idiot questioned Swedens ability and as you saw - not many armies in this world have the type of arms Sweden has. So forget about the bull shit that we haven´t been in war for centuries, we know how to develop weapons - no one questions that and we of course know how to use them. Also, it might be that we sometimes loose against a numeriacally superior adversary but never have Swedish troops been accused of being cowards.

They didn´t have this weapons - if they had, thing would have been very different. Sweden have these weapons - we made them.

The weapons the Georgians have is mainly old vintage soviet weapons. T72, kalashnikov, RPG7 etc etc - junk!

Those russian and ossetian troops were robbing and killing. A witness described like a group of russian soldiers stopped a car, took all their valuables and then stole the car.
