President Putin has been informed of Berezovsky's death, the president's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Russia 24 TV network.

Peskov also said that Berezovsky had written to Putin “perhaps a couple of months ago,” asking forgiveness for the mistakes he had made and “requesting permission to return to the motherland.”

Cool!
Where have you been???

I didn't even see you had posted until now.

I posted about Berezovsky here
http://www.topix.com/forum/world/russia/TI75K...

So he hung himself then. Amazing.

I think it wasn't so much over losing to Abramovich, more likely because of what that judge said about him.

He asked to return to Russia 2 months ago. What do you think Putin said? Or maybe he ignored his request?

Also, Berezovsky was supposed to testify at that inquest into Litvinenko's death. Do you think that may have been a factor?
