maybe russian or usa can win,if russian can have trust and form alliances with whole or half asian country due to asian military number and when they go 18 every man have to take 2 3 years military training so if war come almost 80% of asian man know how to war.so the conscript is a more exp.but this is a nuclear age so THE WINNER IS ABSOLUTLY ANT.HUMAN RACE WILL EXTINCT LEAVE A WORLD FOR A NEW WIERD MUTAN OR NOTING LEFT FOR POSSIBLY BETTER FUTURE

Russia would be crushed, the American military equipment is far more advanced, Russian equipment is old, rusty and obsolete

Why did the Russian forces back down to the US Medeteranian Fleet in Georgia? Us marines where face to face with Russian occupiers who somehow wore blue helmets ( not approved by the UN ). Superior firepower obviously. Russia does not need the embarrassment if really getting its ass kicked on global tv. Consider the US spends more than Russia and China put together on military spending this is a no brainer. The only going for the Russian forces is the AK-47 being superior to the M-16 ( 5.56mm vs 7.62x39). Regardless US infantry support weapons, naval, air and space assets like Star Wars are game changers that would decimate Russia thus the nuclear threat is the card Moscow has period.

I watched live as the old Iraqi army deployed a tank column from Baghdad lead by republican guard in new Russian built main battle tanks, the US had the big red 1 unit advancing with Abraham main battle tanks they engaged destroying all the Russian tanks that where firing but the range was not even close to the US tanks. Fulcrum vs f-18's or even f-16's ... US attack radar advances yearly and proved to be the game changer destroying all Russian built assets. With the corruption and lack of maintenance on Russia's military I'd be amazed if any combat arms units could inflict major damage to a US confrontation. The Russians are out spent and out technologies by years thus the push from Moscow to utilize spies all over the world to try and bribe and steal info. Tragic. That's why nukes are the only chess board pieces Russia has and at any heated time deploy them on scuds into the woods on mobile units because ya it is terrifying to think a hand full of decision makers can destroy our world.

Why do you think the bulk forced went back to Russia bud. If they where so set on taking over Georgia where was the resolve in the face of the Americans. The Russian foreign minister hates the prez of Georgia so much he freaks when the topic is brought up. McCain the republican and senate arms committee politician went to university in the states with the prez of Georgia they are long time friends. Georgia deployed troops to Iraq much like Ukraine did and both nations where given a pact of protection by the bush for doing so. The us honoured it. They also deployed a SFG unit north of Kiev the same time and missle defence assets to Lviv at that time as well. Recall things where so hot Russia even threatened Poland with nuclear war because they allowed a us presence as well. Scuds where deployed in Russia and the us moved nuke bombers to Alaska ready to roll. Republicans don't mess around. But today the democrats have no stomach for a Russian clash period.

I'm not American but you may call them whatever you want the bottom line is they have bankrupted their nation on military modernization and have a by far modern force compared to Russia. I do believe the new artic fleet of stealth warships was fully designed to confront the Russian naval assets in the artic when the oil and gas up there 25% if the global supply gets from discussion of who owns what to the Russians trying to steal all of it you'll see what I'm talking about. Even Canada is building new war ships because the Russians now claim their sea bed runs from Russia to the coast of Canada which is a complete joke considering all the Inuit natives up there have flown a Canadian flag for over a 100 years and are outraged that Moscow calls them Russians. It's all for $$$$$$. No one drilled up there because there's a methane cap the size of Australia that if punctured would destroy the atmosphere and decimate our oxygen levels. Apparently Moscow doesn't care and is starting drilling close to that dangerous region, utter suicide if they screw up for the rest us. They should leave it alone and pursue new technologies. Magnetism, solar... ECt.

The Russian forces did not back down to any US Navel fleet around Georgia.
Russian Peacekeepers in Georgia were in fact sanctioned by the UN. The US marines possibly did face the Russian soldiers as some of the dead among the Georgian troops were african americans.
Russian forces went into Georgia to stop the killing of the UN sanctioned peacekeepeers as well as the slaughter of sleeping South Ossetian citizens by the Georgian military supported by the USA and Israel. Mission accomplished!
Georgia is a lot smaller now and the Georgians can thank both the USA and Israel for that.
Both Abkhazia and South Ossetia are now independent states and thanks to the Russian military, are living in peace.
Certainly looks like it was the US/Isreali/Georgian forces who were embarrassed on global TV.
Your question should be.....why did the US Medeteranian Fleet in Georgia back down?
Wouldn't put too much faith in your star wars theory as well.....

The USA is nothing but a paper tiger who relies on NATO countries to to do their dirty work as well as those countries you have mentioned ie. Ukraine and Georgia.
Russia threatened Poland with a nuclear war? What a bunch of bullsh!t.

That's bizarre friend I was in Ukraine at that time and had translations from Russian tv on going. The Russians put on first class military press briefings like the pentagon would but the video footage said it all. Russians had razor wire separating them from marines, around the street citizens came out with signs and banners demanding the Russians go home. As for peacekeepers who really believes the security council sanctioned there presence including the states, they would have vetoed. The Russians peacekeepers sunk ships from Georgia and killed house to house. Marking some houses deemed unfriendly with big red x's for night time demolition.
Originally the US had a SFG unit there that gave real time intelligence.., Georgia inflicted the first casualties by artillery fire onto an ensembled Russian armoured column. As well US rockets where issued before the conflict thus thee advisors this action caused the first 6 attack fighters to be shot down as they entered Georgia. After that the kremlin ordered the Georgia prez to be targeted for an air strike ... They where close never found him, that's why they hate him they never got him. Although he is guilty of using mercenaries to enter Russia during the conflict on assassination missions. Never scene any dead tanks though, the us was built up in that region in Iraq and Afghanistan so I can't believe an aircraft carrier force would have been victimized and done nothing in return. I believe common sense prevailed. Agreement made, Russia digs in and the us leaves.
