The sleeping bear has been awakened. The White Swan is gorgeous, graceful & extremely powerful. B-1 looks like a miserable pile of junk in comparison. The Tu-160 first flew in 1981. Its based on 70s science and tech. Fully loaded, its 580,000 lbs.

The US is deploying robot aircraft which weigh about the same as a Piper Cub. No humans to carry means less of everything: size, fuel, oxygen, escape systems, etc. Robot systems don't worry about g-forces. They maneuver 10 times faster. Try shooting one down with a missle.

Why do you need something this size for strategic missions? Less is more when you have hi-tech miniaturization. If this thing takes off, robot interceptors will meet it before it crosses the Russian border. They are launched from subs, you know.

It outdated crap recently hit 30 Merkavas considered to be the best tanks in the world.
Just imagine what happens if the crap for sale will not be that outdated.

One reason to paint a strategic bomber "white" used to be to give the crew a bit more of a chance to get home after dropping off their nukes.

With a fast aircraft like the TU-160, you can drop higher-yield nukes ... or drop off up to 12 cruise missiles with a 3,000 km range.

If you see a White Swan, you might even say "dang, but that's a good-looking WMD!" It is big and bright white, so you can see it a long ways off.

It's useful for "Projection of Power". And it can make glass deserts.

Key word: SHOW OFF
Regardless of its technical capabilities, this bomber wasn't built and commissioned to deliver its nuclear payload. It's real purpose is to act as a propaganda piece for the Putin/Medvedev government and as a negotiating tactic with NATO by reminding the rest of the world the RF is a nuclear power.
This is merely a crude Mafiosi-style attempt at the old 'I'll make you a deal you can't refuse' routine.
I doubt this bomber will be able to deliver on the political effect it was really designed for.

Here's the problem with the "white swan".It has a radar image the size of a mountain,and can be tracked the moment it's in the air.B1,B2,F22 virtually invisable to radar.As i said before,the bigger they are the harder they fall.
