With the election of a new Democratic president in the U.S., Washington and Moscow may sign a new strategic arms reduction deal as early as the summer of next year, a Russian analyst said on Thursday.

"[Barack] Obama supports sharp reductions in nuclear arsenals and I believe that Russia and the U.S. may sign in the summer or fall of 2009 a new treaty that would replace START-1, which expires in December 2009," Sergei Rogov, director of the Institute of the U.S. and Canada, told a news conference in RIA Novosti.

Pentagon currently owns or rents 702 overseas military bases in about 130 countries and has another 6,000 bases in the United States and its territories.
Shutting down U.S. military bases in foreign countries would be a good start.
A strategic arms reduction deal with the U.S. will not be in Russia's interests especially if the U.S. continuses on it's destructive path by placing missiles along Russian borders and destabilizing the balance of power in the region.
Obama will have to drastically change the current American foreign policies to a far less militaristic one abroad.

Obama's advisers can prepare a treaty like that Gorby signed and that has weaked Russia.
Some secret devil neocons are in the Obama's team.

Yes, Gorbachev would be a great Chief of Staff for Obama, but instead Obama chose a Zionist war hawk and son of a living terrorist, Rahm Emanuel, as Chief Of Staff. I thought Obama was smarter than that.
It will be interesting to see if Obama will champion peace in the world instead of what the U.S. is doing now.

Don't know what Muslims were saying about Obama, but everyone knew that Obama had a "hard on" for Israel for some time now.
