Why did TM's parents say at the very beginning that it wasn't racial?. Well, now that the verdict didn't go there way, they are claiming it is racial.

It's sad because his parents because do seem like decent people, who are well spoken and mean well. They lost their child. There simply is no price on that.

However, they are having their grief for their son exploited by race baiting propaganda artists who are looking out for their political interests.

This whole fiasco just put back race relations 30 years...... Wasn't Obama supposed to be the called healer?.

It ALL starts in the home. That is what i have been saying from the beginning.....Somewhere along the way Travon Martin got the message along the way that violence resolves issues.

And he paid for it with his life.

==========

Let's see......

Sadly, in this country many black people and undeprivilaged minorities are encouraged to embrace a culture of poverty that is counterproductive and has been phased out of most ethnic groups over time. The Italians fazed it out. So did the irish and the Jews.

But no one is willing to say anything because they are afraid of being called a racist.

No matter which race someone is poverty stricken ignorant people all exhibit the same characteristics.

Reliance on emotional oratory and intimidation..Al it does is turn people off..THE PLAIN TRUTH!

Violence as a means to prove your manhood. Not backing backing down or not knowing how to navigate through a tricky situation one may encounter with diplomacy,....In other words. Using your head and NOT resorting to violence. YOU CANNOT secure decent employment with a record.

Having children as a means to show manhood and women hood when one is clearly in NO place to have kids. Welfare supports them.

Carrying around a chip on your shoulder and looking for someone to offend your pride. Even over something as simple as not saying "Excuse me" Or accidently bumping in somebody.

Distrust of anyone outside the locality in which they live. Seeing the authorities as the enemy. When it is their "own leaders" and "the liberals" who have fed them this culture of entitlment by pacifying them with this or that grant and this or that government program...This PACIFISM is the real enemy.

The Rejecting of education. Not speaking correctly and being PROUD that you don't express yourself correctly.

Wearing the latest $200.00 sneakers when it is likely that your family subsists off the state in some form...Having the latest gadgetry and the most expensive toiletries and labels when your family doesn't even own a home.

This "culture of gross materialism" is like a god. Whatever happened to thriftiness, saving and making do with what one had until better days come along...That is what my family did when they came to the mainland. So did many other newcomers.

These are counterproductive habits that are preventing many from advancing.

Why aren't their black leaders protesting every single nickle and dime fast food chain that is setting up shop in minority communities??...That food is literally killing people.

Sadly, this culture persists in the black and minority ghettos of today, and no one wants to say anything for fear of being called racist.

The blacks need to stand up and reject these things and quit allowing white liberals convince them that the culture of poverty is part of their "black identity"

Materialism is your master. It is slavery of the mind that's your master.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Well said. The Black community needs to get themselves out of this rut.

When half of all Black men are arrested in their lifetime, when 75% of Black babies grow up in a household with a single mom, when you have 3 generations of the same family all on welfare you know you have a big, big problem.

It has nothing to do with race, it's about culture. Mainstream Black culture today is corrupt. Very, very corrupt. It teaches Black youth to idolize thugs and rappers instead of teachers and scientists.

Barack Obama has set race relations back to the 1960s. He had barely taken office when he started in with his "the police acted stupidly" comment that led to the absurd "beer summit". Eric Holder's refusal to prosecute the Black Panthers for voter intimidation confirmed it.

The man who claimed to be the "post racial president" has instead turned into the Great Divider.

People, you have to live in Florida to know what goes on down there.

Believe me, in spite of Miami's international flair, for ex.., the city behaves as any Deep South, backward redneck woods.

...and that's Miami, their 5 million plus metropolis.

The rest of the state is pretty much what you would expect in the Alabama or Miss of the 1960's.

Old habits-not only do these refuse to die-but are kept alive and kicking by the way history has unfolded there.

This is pretty much true, especially in the interior and in the Panhandle. There are some little towns like around Lake Okeechobee that are like splitting images of the 1960s South.

Even some of the touristy areas like Cocoa Beach are like this to a degree.

I can speak for myself, mys...

I would love to get to your good side, again and beg that you forgive anything wrong I may have done to you in the past...and believe me, you're the first person-here in Topix, to which I humbly ask this.

"...to a degree..."?????

I had the luck to go to college in Florida and at a post grad level-which means that facts were stripped to their nakedness and beaten to death...

Believe me, is not pretty what goes on there.

....and I'm not talking about backwoods such as Cedar Keys, the pan handle or even the last redneck stand in Dade County- the Cutler Rd. area near Kendall, where you can still see them peckers in beaten pick ups, rifles and guns in hands up and down HW 1 mingling with Aventura's sophisticates.

Florida's justice system is as shi_tty as anything painted by Hollywood and even more....

No sweat.

What's a few "exchanges" between fellow Americans, and of Puerto Rican roots, to top it all?

Now, if you were Russian....

It means someone's having a field day at our expense.

It takes so little for some people to be entertained.

If I were to disagree with anything, I would come right out and write it...y aguantaba cualquier chapuzon coming my way.

Now, that there IS entertainment.

My favorite quote, which I use constantly, at least once or twice a month is from a Medieval Spanish author-it goes, "alguna gente es como el perro del hortelano, que ni come, ni deja comer".

We, Puerto Ricans, have similar one, used by our jibaros forever, and it goes-"alguna gente se pasa jodiendo el parto", do you know what is to give birth, with all the pain and mess y que haya alguien jodiendo at the same time?

If you ask me, farmers' saying always embody tons of wisdom.

If you are referring to me.

ITS NOT ME.

Take look at your friend Gitano who wants to see static.

I have had enough of your drama. You are no that important.

Deal with the icons...So what?...We all get them.

You do notice that i'm not dealing with you, right?

Yes. Feeling is mutual. I tried to get along with you. But, to no avail.

Stick with Gitano.

And i'm the so-called hypocrite?...Vete pal cara!

YOU'RE THE FAKE!. How dare you say that to me!?

You don't know me!

Exactly, Jorge!...People should not be paying attentions to icons.

It's childish!

If one is bothered by icons?...Then, I don't know...LOLQ

it is always the same cheap response with you. Blaming Gitano for everything give it a damn rest. You are not important to me not one bit that's why I don't acknowledge you. You can't even admit as soon as I agreed with Pam in this thread that's when all the icons started from post to post I know it was you way too obvious. You tried to get along? Please don't. what is squashed is squashed it does not mean I will be interacting with you I made it very obvious!!! I will stick with my buddy is that suppose to make me feel some type of way? Just take a seat somewhere. I will duck the damn nuts after I post this.
