How are you HG?
4 yrs waiting for something that made sense? That was a long wait...LOL
You know me, I don't have that patience...I tend to rave and rant...LOL
You just gave me a huge lesson, thanks!
Saludos Jorge,

You just keep on doing what you are doing. What you label rave and rant is more thought provoking and logical then 90% of all that comes through here at this forum.

By the way, thanks for asking; all is well here, praises be to the " Most High."

If you have a moment please listen to the lyrics of this piece by a favorite poet and if you like I'll be interested in your feedback.

Puerto ricans are hispanic and mexicans are latinos. "Latin America/ Latino America" that includes all latin American Countries. Puerto rico is not a country is an island that jumped to be part of the U.S.A to have their benefits. Simple as that. other than you want to be ignorant and argue what is true
This are the kind of peope who makes me feel ashame of been hispanic and latina. I am a puertorican, and just like mexicans we are both hispanic and latino. HIspanics are those whos languages is Spanish and latinos are those whose language comes from latin, and spanish comes from latin, so where the hell you have such "disparate" mexicans are this puertoricans are that, boy what a shame!!!

It was a rhetoric question because you just can't.

Hispanic is a culture.

Unless you interact with someone (and even that way is also difficult); can you tell if someone is Hispanic or not.

We BRA peeps are not really 'Latins', although technically we are, just like any other Latin/Romance speakin' country. ;-D Boricuas are both Hispanic & Latins, whereas Yank Ricans are simply Anglo ghetto copycat VVigger bananas, so fuhck 'em, they ain't neither Latin nor Hispanic by culture. ;-)

Well mostly b/s apart bein' S.Americans & speakin' a Latin/Romance lang, we were always kinda isol8d from the rest of the Latin Hispanic & Francophone world. ;-D Hard to Xplain, but over the centuries we developed a strong 'Brazilianism', & many older BRA peeps stick to it even today under 'brasilianidade' or 'a rassa brasileira'. ;-)

The word Hispanic is derrived from Hispania, the name the Romans called their territory of the Iberian peninsula. The official language of Hispania under Rome was Latin and even when the Roman empire disintegrated, Latin continued as a language and eventually evolved into the Spanish language spoken in Spain, as well as the other dialects. Eventually the name was used to refer to the language of Hispania or Espanya as the Moors referred to it.

==========

So I believe that Hispanic refers to the people of Spain or their direct descendents.

==========

Latinos are the peoples of Central and South America and the Spanish Caribbean islands who are basically a mestizo of Spanish, African and indigenous peoples and a smattering of other Europeans as distinct from Spain.

Interestingly, Spaniards today often refer to people from Latin America as "Americanos".

Ok I'll tell you what it is since it was us white people that put the official label according to us Latino latina boricua or whatever you want to call yourself you are all Hispanic, since your not from Europe and all speak broken Spanish you are Hispanic. It doesn't matter if you are blanco or Moreno if you are born in a third world country and speak broken ass Spanish you are Hispanic. Aaaaaand if your momma and papi are from that third world country and you live in the United States you are Hispanic American. And there you are and yes if you put a plantain in a sea monkey tank a Puerto Rican will pop out and ask you for money very rudely.

Latin was the language spoken in the Roman Empire. Spanish and many other languages that you could certainly name developed, from it.
Since we are not latin, nor we spoke the language, we have to be HISPANICS the Actual Ethnicity of the Slave Masters from Spain that Raped us Psychologically believing we are a new Race, since SPANISH is the language we
speak/write. I do not know about how to define you.
o a wheh part of Spain yu come from? Hispanics are anyone from Spain of European Spanish(Espanol) Descent Spaniards Latinos are all Blacks, Mixed with Indian, Spaniard creating the new Ethnicity LATINO What Race are the amazing, and so-called HISPANICS/LATINOS are the Hebrew-Israelite Jews blessed and choosen Children of GOD--RISE UP MEXICO whom are also the AZTECS The ISSACHAR Tribe, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC The SIMEON Tribe, CUBA The MANASSEH Tribe, COLUMBIA The ASHER Tribe etc anyways check this link, and wake up!!
