Most stateside Puerto Ricans (ESPECIALLY the Nuyoricans) fit into the same category as Nydia Velasquez ie: pro-status quo so I am not sure how much help it would be.

Jose Serrano is rare amongst the Nuyoricans in that he is pro-statehood.

The Florida Puerto Ricans are however generally pro-statehood.

From where do you come up with this?.

It is split. Much like everywhere else.

If stateside Ricans are included and Serrano favors such a move, he must know something (first hand) that neither you nor I know.

But, again, I doubt that Congress will impose another status plebiscite on islands Puerto Ricans.

Our petition for statehood will start negotiations soon and it will take us a while to get to a happy medium (but statehood is finally on its way).

Colonialism is over!

Always bear in mind, that the current status received way less than the 61% approval rate statehood got this past Nov. 6 (and Agapito got elected by only 47.5% of the islands' total vote).
