The first one, I like her voice better. The second one in Spanish she has a regal voice very elegant.

France's own Jeannette topped the charts in France, Spain and most countries in Latin America with this song in 1976.

Spanish film maker, Carlos Saura, used Jeannette's Spanish version as theme song for the 1976 movie Cría Cuervos.

Olguita Álvarez brought it to Puerto Rico and Miami about a year later.

Thanks for sharing this I loved the song, again never heard it but I like the lyrics very sad but realistic. Oh, Btw I love that you're sharing the origin and history interesting as always.

Jorge, when you get a chance you should do a comparison of Jose Luis peralis "y como es el" and Marc Anthony's version...that should be interesting.

Oh! man-Marc Anthony.

This guy's on a league of his own.

(A few months ago) I listened to an entire show he made in Viña del Mar, Chile (precisely interpreting Jose L. Perales songs, which happened to be in the audience and sang a duet with Marc).

I knew that Marc is good, but to see Viña's "the monster" (the name given, in the 1960's to the Chilean audience who votes for the prices in the festival)...award Marc with prize after price, and with standing ovation after standing ovation for every song; it gave me goosebumps, and I wasn't even there...LOL

Only Mexico's Luis Miguel and NYC's Marc Anthony are the only ones in that festival's history to be awarded with so many prices in one night's performance.

I love Marc Anthony now that's a powerhouse right there, I never seen him in concert but the man is a beast I mean that voice is not like no other. In The CD iconos he outstaged all of the original singers, in my opinion and that's not easy to do. My favorite salseros are Marc Anthony and Frankie Ruiz hands down.

Of course, I will and promise to find where he sings ¿Y cómo es el? with Perales (and the audience goes wild, because it was Perales who made it a hit back in the 1980's, all over Spain and Latin America); and now Marc's done it again (and revised the song with his own version).

I remember my mom playing perales" y como es el" when I was a kid I wasn't even born when that song came out but man I loved it the first time I heard it. Now that I'm older I absolutely love the lyrics to that song is very unique heart-wrenching. Ahh man I don't know who wrote that song but I can feel every word when I listen to it.

That's the beauty of it, Perales wrote it and said that Marc is one of the best interpreters.
