I hate gum chewing!
But love movie characters who do (like Shirley McClaine in Sweet Charity or Pacino in Donnie Brasco).
I remember this interview with Prince Nicholas of Greece. Can't remember the question but his answer was something I always believed- a person never, ever ought to be photographed neither smoking nor chewing.
These are done in the privacy of a family.
Good advice from the elegant Prince Nicholas of Greece.
lmao than you will hate me I'm always chewing gum it helps with stress is probably mental but it works for me. That's interesting about not being photographed, that went out the window they have all the models and actors caught smoking lol...and the models glamorizing it on photoshoots. The prince perspective was a very good one and conservative.

You know what I love, when actors are interviewed and we (the public) are able to find out how they "get into character".

Do you know that Brando, when he played Don Corleone, he actually didn't know how to "get into the character" until he saw two huge cotton balls on a table?

He stuffed his mouth with the cotton balls and when it was his turn for the first scene, impressed everyone with his cotton filled cheeks and use of the Don's raspy voice.

That was a great movie . It was sad that the real guy who Pacino played was killed in real life just like the movie.
I love those mob movies based on actual events. Goodfellas was another great one.
I would have enjoyed being in the mob and gather my "crew" around me for hours while I bitched and complained about Miami Cubans.
oh good fellas was one of my favorites. Am I the only one that really enjoyed "A Bronx tale" that movie was awesome. I love mob movies too

This Gitano fella' is shoving his Miami Cubans down my throat at his every chance....LOL

But, you're right-Goodfellas was one of THE BEST gangster movies ever (must have seen it, wow, about 100 times?)...LOL

How 'bout Casino?

Now that movie, like Goodfellas, had it all-great performances, great ambience (love the 50's and 60's); the wardrobe was out of this world (love each and every one of De Niro's and Sharon Stone's 1960's costumes)..the music was out of this world...everything, man!

The 1950's ambience of "A Bronx Tale" is just terrific (to use some word).

The movie's great and the actor who plays the gangster (is one of my favorites-I loved him in Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway, another favorite).

Lemme check this actor's name and I'll get back to you on that one!

No.

Brando had this high pitch, gutural voice (which I didn't like-you can hear it in On The Waterfront and in A Streetcar Named Desire).

The man rejected the Best Actor Oscar, for that role.

Yes, he really killed it with that performance.

The actor who played Sonny (Calogero Lorenzo Palmintieri) is one of my favorites to play a gangster, right up there with Pesci and the actor who played the gangster driver (Joe Viterelli) to the Niro in Analyze This (with Billy Cristal).

oh Sonny I loved him in that movie. I liked De Niro in that movie I kinda felt bad for him when his kid appeared to look up to sonny more than his hard working dad. Love that quote " the saddest thing in the life is wasted talent" that's real

Not a gangster movie (well at least he does not play a gangster anyhow) but my favorite Al Pacino movie would have to be "Heat" ... awesome movie.

There's another good Pacino/Deniro movie where they both play NYPD detectives ... I forget the name of it but it was pretty good. Pacino turns out to be a dirty cop

Yes! That's the movie ... with 70 year olds playing cops LOL. The writers tried so hard to make Deniro and Pacino's chracters out to be so much better than the younger actors' characters. They even had Deniro bench more than Donnie Walhberg in a gym scene ... oh please, Deniro is like twice his age LOL.

Same here.

But my all time favorite, which I have in every format is The Godfather trio.

Those movies are perfect, wouldn't change one scene.

One of my favorites actors there is the man who played Hyman Roth, Lee Strasberg.

He reminds me of my grandfather, on my father's side-manipulating with this imaginary disease (and in the words of Michael Corleone-""...been dying for years of the same heart disease...")....LOL
