I wouldent be so sure of that. Puerto Ricans by nature are usually socially conservative. Even the Democrats are generally more center right than national Democrats.

Swing state with a slight Democrat lean would be my guess.

Also, even the Republicans are not "pure-capitalist".

Puerto Rico allowed the dissemination of a vast and rich agricultural economy.
Sold it's land away to American Corporations.
Have Allowed insane amounts of drugs run rampant through the island.
Have allowed Dominicans to invade into the island freely and created a immigration problem as high as the mexican/american illegal issue, in spite of having 50 miles of agrressive sea between us.
Have allowed American corporations to create a quality of life/cost of living situation that is unreal for puerto ricans to stay on there own island.
Corporations are outsourcing jobs to white america while making puerto ricans leave there home to find work. People with PHD's working in Mc DSonald's while some american shmuck with a bachelor's is doing the PR PHD's job.
Puerto Rican fools were beaten oppressed and gentrified into statehood. All because they didn't know how to vote statehood or independence and wanted to rife of commonwealth. So afraid of becoming another Cuba. Meanwhile we produce more money to the US that is more than 7 midwestern states. Thats money we don't see. Thats our tax for having a SSN you dingbats...
Then welfare and medicare came in and PR's just thought Wow... Awesome. And sold there souls for the dream of a social security card, a corporate job and citizenship.

Bye Bye Puerto Rico, Because in 50 years, your culture will be lost because you were too good to be an agricultural independent. It's so much more glamourous to be a corporate slave with a social security card. WEll PR. You asked for it. You got it. Dont complain when you lose every bit of your identity... I can hear the whining in 20 years about remember when? Pendejos.

3 million on the island. 11 million in the states. We produce more people than our land can hold but we can't produce an independent economy? Really?
I have nothing else to say... I'm ashamed of my people in this area of our culture. Enslaved thinkers in PR.
