If the Supreme Court decides in favor of extending equality to over 50 million US gays; Puerto Rico's statehood will follow up, undoubtedly.

Overturning the Insular Cases is another must do for a Supreme Court. That simple act would more or less incorporate Puerto Rico.

Apparently, the Executive already threw in the towel.

I think that Obama has been given so many opportunities between gay marriage, immigration "reform", and Puerto Rican statehood he has no idea where to start.

Remember, this is something that will not happen overnight ... the rejection of the colony on 11/6/12 was an Earth shattering moment - most people did not expect it. It will take time for Washington to get used to this new reality.

In my opinion, our statehood will be handled in such secrecy that one day Old Glory will wake up with 51 stars and nobody'll notice it.

Very interesting theory ... sounds like what happened with Alaska
