We are currently building unreliable wind turbines.
While we don't have much in the way of birds to kill off, that shouldn't be the issue. The insolation of PR is insufficient for PV. The only viable alternative is solar hot water.
Wind turbines only benefit the contractor and the manufacturer of the equipment. Hopefully we have a "removal" clause in the contract so that when they fail the company will have to remove the junk from the island.
Don't believe me, just do a search and find out exactly how bad it really is.

How do you like the municipio of Cidra?.

It has mushroomed in the last couple of decades because of its proximity to Rt 52.

I don't understand the location function. It seems to place me in random places around the island. The only common point seems to be they all start with "C". I do live in Ceiba. DOT seems to be rebuilding the flood zone at the junction of 3 and 53. We shall see.
There is much activity on Roose Roads. Some areas are blocked off, but there seems to be new building in the vicinity of the old C.O's house.
I do like it, today seems like a fine day for the beach.

Are you saying Big Alice has been shut down? If the wackos succeed in shutting down Indian Point, the Big Apple may get a bit moldy.
How is your summer going? So far we've maxxed at about 89, the water is quite warm mid 80's. We've (east end) have had a fair amount of rain.
PR did as study on nuclear, it didn't go anywhere. They should build a coal plant on the west end with 300 ft stacks. The only other viable alternative is to adapt Arthur C Clarke's idea in "Raise the Titanic" Use nuclear submarines, anchored in the PR trench to provide power. If Cuba starts drilling in the Gulf, we might be able to get bunker oil at a reasonable price. Fuel oil is just too expensive. If the island is to get off the government dole, we must have energy in the 12 to 18 cent/KwHr range.
