"Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man how to fish and he eats for a lifetime"

The cycle of poverty is definitely the work of a certain political party to force people to become dependent on them so they keep voting for them.

Only Jesus Christ will trully eradicate poverty and all forms of social inequity.

The bible states

"With that i heard aloud voice from the throne say: Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will RESIDE with them, and they will be his people. And GOD himself will be with them 4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning not outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have PASSED away (Revelation 21:3,4)

==========

In the meantime. It is up to each individual to be responsible for themselves instead of sitting around and philosophizing about it.

The bible also states.

"If anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat" (2 Thessalonians 3:4)

The bible states

"Go to the ant, you lazy one, see its ways and become very wise 7) Although it has no commander, officer or ruler 8)It prepares itself for even in the summer, it has gathered its food supplies even in the harvest 9) How long you lazy one, will you keep lying down?. When will you rise up from your slumber? 10) A little more sleep, a little more slumbering, a little more folding of the hands in lying down 11) And your poverty will CERTAINLY COME just like a rover, and you want like an armed man (Proverbs 6:6-11)

If people would apply more biblical principles in life. They would greatly benefit.

It is wisdom from God.

==========

No matter what political party is in power, one has to work and be held accountable for oneself and personal responsibilities.

Give a man a fire and he will be warm for the night. Light a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life, thus ending the cycle of poverty.

I never said I wanted to kill powerless minorities. If anything the so called "powerless minorities" are anything but powerless or a minority. They may be impoverished but they are anything but powerless minorities.

In economics, the cycle of poverty is the "set of factors or events by which poverty, once started, is likely to continue unless there is outside intervention."[1]

The cycle of poverty has been defined as a phenomenon where poor families become trapped in poverty for at least three generations, i.e., for enough time that the family includes no surviving ancestors who possess and can transmit the intellectual, social, and cultural capital necessary to stay out of or escape poverty; in calculations of expected generation length and ancestor lifespan, the lower median age of parents in these families is offset by the shorter lifespans in many of these groups.

Such families have either limited or no resources. There are many disadvantages that collectively work in a circular process making it virtually impossible for individuals to break the cycle.[2] This occurs when poor people do not have the resources necessary to get out of poverty, such as financial capital, education, or connections. In other words, poverty-stricken individuals experience disadvantages as a result of their poverty, which in turn increases their poverty. This would mean that the poor remain poor throughout their lives.[1] This cycle has also been referred to as a "pattern" of behaviors and situations which cannot easily be changed.[3]

"Poverty" is defined as a situation in which someone does not have enough money to pay for their basic needs.

"Poverty cycle" therefore means that the situation repeats itself in the same order; one after the other.

As always, right on target!

The only way for a poor person to end its cycle its through the help of an external force which will change his/her personal paradigm.

How can it be that in the richest country on earth there are so many poor, and for generations (not newly arrived)?

We, all as a nation, have to fulfill our civic duty and demand from every govt. an end to poverty in the US!

The government will handle it in the spectacular fashion that they handle the war on terror and the war on drugs. Poverty will grow exponentially.

It already has thanks to Lyndon Johnson (LBJ) and his "Great Society Program" of the 1960s. LBJ created the modern concept of welfare. Keep them dumb and dependent on the government so they keep voting Democratic.

She is a female Glenn Beck and distorts facts just like Beck. She has blinding hate for all Muslims .

"The Obama administration is declining to criticize Egypt's draft constitution despite spirited internal debate over whether the document adequately protects women, religious minorities and dissenting voices"

The above is from her blog and perfect example of this "Chicken little".
Has a single republican president ever criticized Saudi Arabia which has the brutal Wahhabi anti-women laws and let me see anyone with dissenting voices in any Islamic country .

Two wrongs do not make a right but she implies that Obama supports Islamic fanatics.

Obama has no said a thing about Egypt yet because as of now they have not laid out their new laws, if any.

I remember when some of her fans had the fake email going around,

"Muslims Praying Every Friday in Streets of New York Protest Message
Outline
Protest message claims that, every Friday, many Muslims pray on Madison Avenue and other streets of New York, thereby blocking streets and disrupting traffic. The message includes photographs depicting large groups of Muslims praying. "

This site speaks volumes about the nut. I am familiar with her because my Miami Cuban ,Glenn Beck puppet uncle loves her.

You are in Long Island, The majority of Jewish Americans there can but red states and they vote Democrat.

You have fallen for that BS stereo-type that Dems vote Dem due to welfare.

I have never gotten welfare but do vote on EPA standards, consumer rights , Do not want to live in a theocracy which Christian conservatives want to impose and I say this living in Florida .

I am also not conned by the symbolism GOP who drape the flag around themselves and hold the bible while pissing on the country.

Talking heads do not need to tell me the huge difference I have seen between Dem NY and GOP south.

Va benefits come to mind.

"GOP Looks at Cutting Veterans Health Benefits for 2011-12 Session to Fulfill Pledge"

The Republican Party has it knives out and is casting its eyes with a lean and hungry look on ‘Quite Extreme’ Veterans Health Benefits.“My feelings on veterans benefits,” Max Cleland said, responding to the 2010 Republican pledge to slash them,“they’re all pre-paid. Veterans gave at the office.”

And the Democrats have lived up to that duty, he said. Since they took the lead in Congress in 2006 and since President Obama was sworn into office,“we have seen the greatest increase in the VA budget since World War II,” Cleland pointed out.

In the past 72 months of Democratic Party leadership, the VA has seen a budget increase of 45 percent.

“Democrats get it,” he said.“Voters who care about these issues care enough to send Democrats to Washington to ensure the government adequately fund and care for those who have made the ultimate sacrifices.”

As far as dumb ,You have just described the southern GOP voting base which is rednecks and Christian conservatives.

They also suck up tax payer funds in hospital bills (most have no health care), welfare, etc while screaming about non Whites.

Doctor:"Miss you have breast cancer"
Miss: " Can I pay you and the hospital with chickens?"

I do not see that working. Times have changed and republicans have not.

No one is actually sure and you can find as many sites by as many historians which say different things but I think the general agreement is that when the Romans first had what is considered an army, they were paid in "salarium" which is salt but later the army was paid in currency .

It is fact that the newer legions were paid in currency and the Romans kept accurate records of this which is why we know.

A Miami Cuban I know was in an elite marching unit during his ROTC days, this has nothing to do with your post but the Romans marching reminded me of it.

He often post here as "We Just Dont Care" and he is the tallest one on the drill team.

Yep. She is way out there.

I was a little partial to her because of her Long Island roots.

But, she is far, far right.

She has a following though.
