Portugal's high court keeps gay marriage ban

Portugal's Constitutional Court on Friday upheld the country's ban on gay marriage, rejecting a challenge by two lesbians who are seeking to wed.

The American Psychiatric Association has confirmed that sexual orientation is natural, biologically induced, morally neutral, immutable, neither contagious nor learned, and has no relation to an individuals ability to form deep and lasting relationships, to parent children, to work, or to contribute to society. The American Psychological Association states that homosexuality and homosexual relationships are normal. The US Census reveals that 1/3 of America's same-sex families are raising children, with the same responsibilities of any American family, needing and deserving all the same financial, legal and social protections that current marriage laws provides. The American Academy of Pediatrics confirms that these children develop normally in every way. The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Psychological Association, and the American Psychiatric Association have all endorsed civil marriage for same sex couples because marriage strengthens the mental and physical health and the longevity of couples, and provides greater legal and financial security for children, parents, and seniors. When Americas premier child and mental health associations and their expert panels endorse marriage equality, there is thus no ethical reason to discriminate against gay people and their children, other than disrespectfully imposing one's own ideology on others.
We must realize that some 3% of every generation of children from every culture will always recognize that they are gay. The question that we need to ask ourselves is: what are we doing to make the world a safer and more welcoming place for these youth? Children should learn that all American families and marriages are equal in the eyes of the law.
Every mainstream credible medical or mental health association has published the same opinion: marriage is good for Americans, and it should be available to all adults.

Marriage is a contract of two people. Why is the law governing sex between two people? Love is love is independent of sex of race or gender. It is all about respect, trust, and love. Love doesn´t need a contract. Contracts are made for material things. We are on this Earth for a short period of time. Why can´t we just help each other through this experience.

Gays are abnormal degenerates that should not be allowed to marry or adopt children. If they were normal in nature's scheme of things they would be in the majority.
