They are not Mexican. Seeing as both nations were under Spanish rule they both adopted Spanish last names.

Other than that. The Phillipines and Mexico have absolutely no other historical, racial, cultural connections.

Both the Philippines, and Mexico, shared a royal family, the Bourbon/Capetian royal line, along with France, Spain, Italy, Colombia, California, Florida, Detroit, Louisiana, Brazil, Portugal, Poland, all of Latin America, and other places.

“According to the historian Karl Ferdinand Werner, Capétiens constitute the oldest royal dynasty in male succession of the world. In fact, with the two kings robertiens Eudes 1st and Robert 1st, from 888 to 1848, the dynasty of Hugues Capet gave thirty-seven kings to France. Capétiens also gave thirteen kings to Naples and Sicily, ten kings in Spain, four kings in Hungary, three kings in Poland, three emperors of Romanie (Constantinople) and per illegitimate way thirty-two kings with Portugal and two emperors in Brazil.”

Bourbon/Capetians helped to lay the foundation for much of Christian civilization, and a Bourbon currently sits on the throne of Spain.

All of the areas currently/formerly ruled by Bourbon/Capetians need to unite, and need to work together as a team, right now, and we can help to save each other.

I have the Bourbon/Capetian royal line in my family tree, a French princess escaped from France during the French Revolution and came to America to keep from getting her head chopped off, and is in my family tree. I love the people of the Philippines, and we all must work together to save each other, every area currently/formerly ruled by Bourbon/Capetians need to united and work together as a team so that we can help to save each other.

Salute,

Tony V.

Louisiana is in sad shape right now, all areas formerly/currently ruled by Bourbons/Capetians need to unite, and need to work together as a team, and we can help to save each other.

Here is a link to a thread I started on Topix about the sad situation in Louisiana...

for the same reasons the Incas and the Aztecs of today have Spanish names. Filipinos were under Spain for 300 years. That's the simplest explanation this peninsular can give, or is it insular, I plumb forgot already.

I wouldn't put a period on that statement, yet.
My wife's father's last name is Escobar.
His grandfather is from Mexico.
I think Acapulco, came to the Philippines, along with some other Mexicans as Spanish soldiers recruited in Acapulco as escorts for the galleon trade.

its quite simple really, when we, The Spaniard, came first onto their island, their old names were all weird and hard to pronounce so we make them use our names instead. That's only the most significant relation we have with those islanders

Here is a nice story about King Philip II, who is in my family tree...

When King Philip II was King of the Philippines, he loved the people of the Philippines, and he wanted them to have lots of food to eat, so King Philip II sent many ships full of pigs to the Philippines so that the Filipinos would have lots of pork to eat, and to this day the Filipinos still love pork, and the Filipinos always serve pork at their parties.

Best View, in the UK, is an idiot. He has nothing constructive to add to any discussion, and he insults me for no reason, so he can go to hell.

And I am serious. I am proud to have the Bourbon/Capetian royal line in my family tree.
