The Philippines was then one of the richest countries in Asia, but due to political instability and adoption of inconsistent economic policies, it took a turn to being one of the poorest. The Philippines, despite its relatively small land area, has the world's 12th largest population. This leads to many social problems such as poverty, unemployment, and crime. However, the Philippines is now growing fast and needs are being fulfilled. It performed well compared to other Asian countries and is now considered as a newly industrialized country. It had shown its economic stability in facing financial crises.[26] According to Goldman Sachs, the Philippine economy will become the 14th largest economy in the world by 2050.[27][28]

According to Goldman Sachs Philippines GDP will be $3.010 Trillion we will surpass the GDP of Italy in 2050. Philippines per capita will increase to $20,388. Studies shows, that if Philippines will approve the RH-Bill or will learn how to control the population the GDP Per Capita in 2050 will be larger than Sachs predicted. If these happens, Philippines will be a first world country in 2050.

This forecast is good but I am pessimistic about this unrealistic prediction. On may part, unless rampant corruptions, and unless the dynasty politicians are put in check, instead of progress we are aiming for, our country, Philippines would surely zoom down in the quagmire of POVERTY.

I predict that the Philippines will be a humble, developed country by 2035-2040, if current rates of ecnonomic growth continues.
Corruption is decreasing in very mini increments each year. Many Filipinos do not feel this because it is such little improvements happening in little bits, but according to world economists, it is actually improving.
Philippines has potential to grow its economy by slowly expand the middle-class and material consumption grows. Already there are signs, such as more Filipinos going to Cafes and Coffee Shops, buying cars, and electrical appliances for homes, even with poverty still prevalent.
This is what South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore were like in the early 1970s. We can follow their example.
Yes, I believe that our country will become rich... If Ferdinand Marcos did not ran for 2nd term of his presidency in 1969. Maybe our economy is develop as Singapore or U.S.A

That's a prediction, If the RH-Bill will not be passed. Because many people here believed in this philosophy that if a certain family will have a large number of siblings will live happily ever after. Hahahahaest.

With The Philippines having a large young population, Vocational Training spending will be a huge benefit for the country. Using that to our advantage, our economy and standard of living will elevate skyrocketing.

As mentioned before, Developed countries are having trouble finding young workers because of their aging population. Once the majority of young Filipinos have access to Vocational Training, man the Philippines will quickly become a more affluent Newly Industrialized Country progressing into Developed Status.

As a Brit and a regular holiday maker in Asia I love The Philipinnes, but for the country to prosper it needs a fair and uncorrupt government, I don't know much about the current one but it doesn't seem to have much luck in the recent past. It needs to control it's population explosion, as that brings its own problems not enough work, money, food and poor housing in slum areas in cities etc. It has a huge pool of cheap labour, the government should take advantage of this by attractng companies to come in and make things there and use the manufacturing base to build up the economy just as other asian countries have.
Peace.

By far the Philippines is a very beautiful country. Just for one industry to inprove is its tourism but, the government has to get rid of all this killings, kidnapping, etc.. to attrack tourist. I don't think they are doing past enough to catch up with other country. They are really left behind.

You see, i am not a fan of predictions like this. Most Filipinos after reading reading this would go like "Yeah, proud to be Pinoy!" or, "Pinoy pride!". My point is, we Filipinos are always saying that we are the best at anything though in fact we are the worst.

Don't get me wrong guys. I have been always defending the Philippines from ignorant bashers, but the facts and numbers are all against me.

Amidst all these, I still remain optimistic for the Philippines. Though our economy slowed down this 3Q, I still think that 3.2% of growth is not bad at all considering our government lacks assertiveness in spending for the economy (Pnoy sucks guys!). The Philippines has a lot of money out there in reserves. Bright future ahead for our economy if they do actually spend it.

LOL! I got traumatized by our own neighbors from ASEAN. Bashing and hatin on Pinoys. And as a 21-year old fresh graduate, i will definitely use this as my inspiration to push myself and my fellow countrymen forward to success and remain humble throughout the process. By the way, i've been offered a job in Canada where I can earn 4 times as much. Tough deal but i tuned it down. CHEERS! Love the Philippines!

My advice to you

LEAVE THAT PLACE, that's the best decision i ever made. No offense to patriotic Filipinos but if you get paid 4-5 times more than you get paid in there, i'd say..you grab that opportunity!! You can send money back home and it'll improve Philippines just the same. What's holding you back?

I also have plans on having my own production studio here before i reach 28.

That well never happen! Too many greed people they only thing they know how to do is STEAL. But, My wish for the philippines is to get out from under.
The only way that will happen if all the CROOKS will be put behind bar's where they belong! The only problem with that is the philippines have a corrupt justice system. So, How are they going to put the CROOKS behind bar's if they're their partner in crimes.

I'll say, There is no hope for the philippines! The philippines will alway be a 3rd world country! For as long as there is still too many CROOKS!
