*what were the strategies and actions put in place to deal with the issue?

*has the image of the Philippines as a sex tourism destination changed in the past years?

Young man the sex industry is alive and well. It comes down to this. There is no enforcement of the law. Protection money is paid to Police and politicians. These clubs are out in the open, lights blaring, girls screaming what they will do for you but no cops.

Sex tourism will not die. Many of those girls are simply so uneducated, that they can't do any other job.

On the other side you have those lady scholar students running out of money every month.
Once and if they will stop their studies they will lose their scholarship and become no one.

The boy friend will just exploit their bodies and sing them useless love lyrics.

So here comes the guy with cash; Chinese, rich pinoy or even foreigner, and the best of students will jump into the bed.

Sad to say, but many teachers today were whores during their studies in university.

But at least they are teachers today and not no one:)

That is true about students. I guess its like them in America dancing in strip clubs. Ive heard numerous stories of college girls cruising around looking to get picked up by a foreigner for cash for school. Who could blame them at least its not a career in the bar.

Lets be honest here; if there were no sex tourist visiting the Philippines there would be very little tourism in that country.

People do not visit the philippines to see its filthy waterways or primitive living conditions. They don't go to see the beaches (filipinos aren't beach people due to the fact they hate getting darker). People do not visit the philippines to see its not so many world wonders or internationally acclaimed historical sites. The place is generally a shythole, which ranks at the bottom of most people list of places to visit.

That's a very sad way to look at someone else's country. I am now beginning to see why there is so much negativity being written about foreigners on this forum by Philippines people.
When I worked in China it was sickening to see foreigners (usually old men) with a very young Chinese woman on their arm.
They might be bringing dollars into the country but they are not doing young women any favours by giving them easy money for sex. They are also not doing other foreigners any favours with their blatant display of arrogance and money. The Chinese probably view all foreigners the same way as Philippines people seem to do.
There has always been prostitution all over the world and there always will be, there's no denying that. But when I read posts from people who denounce a whole country through ignorance and racist ramblings, they do not contribute to any sensible debate to a subject like this but post to antagonise only.

Exactly, Subic is horriable for this too. At the beach this guy would not leave me alone. Follow me and continually hounded me to buy the garabage trinkets he was selling. There are many chinese, japanese and korean men who visit the philippines as sex tourist, its men from all over the world.

Women worldwide also choose to date and/or marry guys who they believe to be wealthy, its how many women work, You need to wake up to lifes realities.
