You guys can't even quell your rebellion you have to ask a Filipino Sultan to save your four fathers ass that's why they gave Sabah to the Sultan of Sulu as a pay back. Philippines military has stomped so many rebellions. I bet Malaysia won't even last with MNLF whose threatening to attack them. If I was the souther commander of Philippine military I will let these groups have safe pass at night for a whole battalion of MNLF seasoned fighters to help there Filipino brothers and give Malaysia there own Mindanao problems like they did to Philippine Government for years. I think Malaysia won't even last a year if Philippine military will support MILF and MNLF wage war with Malaysia.

Very funny how karma bites you back. Malaysia help armed and finance these groups and now they turned fight them. Malaysia biggest mistake to fund these guys to keep Philippine military and government busy fighting the Muslim rebels, now it should be our turn to send our best trained special forces, rangers and seals to form direct action against Malaysian military dress like MNLF to show how much we learned fighting our own people courtesy of Malaysia.

Philippines been fighting ever since the beginning of time, they fight among tribes, Magellan and Spain, Americans, Japan, Korean War, Vietnam war, MNLF, NPA, MILF Iraq war and ASG. I hope Malaysia won't fight Philippines because its like a new army private against a Seagent Major who has vast combat experience like Philippines.

this thread is very funny...
Filipinos and Malaysians bash here and there
but one thing people don't realize here that Filipinos were descendants of the ancient Malays who crossed the sea. but there was one thing that separated this, and it was "nationalism" "greed" why can't we be brothers and end this chauvinistic and selfish armistice and just unite and stand against one big bully, China? while the two nations are battered from this fighting, china or maybe the US of A would intervene and "help" but it would be the same but with extended bloodshed.
wake up people! there's a bigger picture on this than a rather pointless fight

MANILA, Philippines – Filipinos in Sabah have reportedly taken four Malaysians hostage in the town of Semporna in response to the killing of an imam and his four sons, a spokesman of the Kiram family said Sunday.

Kiram family spokesman Abraham Idjirani said in a press conference in Taguig City that Malaysian forces have been arresting Filipinos in Semporna, as they continue to search for Datu Alinapia Kiram, the brother of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III.

On Sunday morning, the Kiram family received reports that Malaysian forces killed an imam and four of his sons in Sampurna, and wounded another imam.

The bloodshed allegedly moved the Filipinos in Sempurna to fight back against the Malaysian forces, leading them to capture a Malaysian official, two Malaysian military officials and one Malaysian policeman.

Idjirani stressed that this move was not organized and not initiated by the Sultanate of Sulu.

The Kiram family said they advised Filipinos in Semporna to take care of the captives and feed them, but they are not sure if the hostages will be released any time soon.

The captives are to be used as hostages in "the brutality and atrocities" of the Malaysian police towards Filipinos living in Sabah, the family said.

Meanwhile, Princess Jaycel Kiram is calling on their supporters to calm down and refrain from taking drastic measures. She still hopes that a peaceful resolution can be achieved if only President Aquino will talk to their family directly.

Jaycel said they have also received reports that some of their supporters from Tawi Tawi, Sulu and Basilan arrived in Semporna last night, but they do not know how they were able to sail to Malaysia without being caught by the Philippine Navy and Malaysian border patrols.

Report: Malaysian official links Misuari to Sabah standoff
ABS-CBNnews.com
Posted at 03/03/2013 5:03 PM | Updated as of 03/03/2013 5:17 PM

MANILA, Philippines -- A senior Malaysian defense official has linked Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chairman Nur Misuari to the deadly standoff between Malaysia and followers of the sultan of Sulu, who have occupied a Sabah village to press their claim, according to Reuters.

On Sunday, the news service reported that an unnamed senior Malaysian defense official said "the gunmen in Sabah had links with a Philippine rebel faction leader called Nor Misuari."

"He will surely stir up more trouble," the Malaysian official said, as quoted by Reuters.

"The trouble looks to be at least partly the result of efforts to forge peace in the southern Philippines, in particular a peace deal signed between the Philippine government and Muslim rebels last October to end a 40 year conflict," Reuters said in its report.

"Jamalul Kiram, a former sultan of Sulu and brother of the man Philippine provincial authorities regard as sultan, said the peace deal had handed control of much of Sulu to Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels, ignoring the sultanate.

"The sultan loyalists had gone to Malaysia to revive their claim to Sabah as a protest in response to what they saw as the unfair peace deal, he said."

Misuari has earlier extended his support to the Filipinos who crossed to the Malaysian state of Sabah to claim the land, noting that the claimants are the rightful heirs to the land.

"May karapatan yan. Ang sulu, iyung Sultanate of Sulu ay may-ari ng North Borneo," said Misuari, also the former governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

But in a report by Mindanews on Sunday, Misuari denied that he was behind the group of the Sultan’s brother, Rajah Muda Agbimuddin Kiram, but admitted that there were MNLF members who joined without his knowledge.

"That is true but I have nothing to do with their going there. I don't like to make trouble. Two hundred armas (firearms) or 100? What can you do against the Armed Forces of.(Malaysia). It's a big gamble on their (Kirams') part and it's not trademark ni Misuari maggawa ng ganyang kalokohan (to do that foolishness)...I assure you wala talaga akong kinalaman dyan," he said as quoted by Mindanews.

Misuari also urged Malaysian Prime Minister Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, whom he claims is a distant relative and a friend to "desist from sending more forces… tone down your voice," Mindannews said.

"I don't like trouble with the (Philippine) government. I don’t like trouble with Malaysia. I want peace," Misuari was quoted to have said.

Ex-MNLF leader beaten to death in Sabah: report
ABS-CBNnews.com
Posted at 03/03/2013 7:02 PM | Updated as of 03/03/2013 7:02 PM

MANILA, Philippines – Malaysia villagers allegedly beat to death a 60-year-old former commander of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in Kg Senalang, Semporna, Sabah on Sunday.

The New Straits Times and The Star Online both cited a Bernama report saying that some 20 residents of the Kg Senalang village beat to death an unidentified ex-MNLF commander who was reportedly armed with a grenade launcher and an M-16 rifle.

“Bernama reports than in the 7am incident, the big-sized man, dressed in black and armed with a(n) M16 rifle, was coming down a hill when he let off a few shots in the direction of the village,” The Star said.

A villager told Bernama that the ex-MNLF leader was shouting,“I’m the one who shot the police last night.”

Five Malaysian policemen had been killed in a clash in Semporna late Saturday.

The armed man then ordered the villagers to gather at a mosque, where he was attacked when he moved to light a cigarette and put down his weapon.

Malaysia Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the incident “showed the people’s anger with the group of armed intruders.”

“They had acted on their own to save villagers who were held hostage,” Najib said, as quoted by New Straits Times.“They showed extraordinary courage.”

“They were opposed to the armed intrusion and acted without fear of losing their lives,” he said.
