Deuterium at Philippine Deep

WRITTEN BY BPNEWS TEAM | 30 JANUARY 2010

Eighty five years ago, J.B.S. Haldane, the noted British scientist, gave a famous lecture at Cambridge University predicting that England would eventually turned to wind turbines and stored hydrogen for energy. Haldane’s prophesy according to Denis Hayes seemed almost whimsically foolish as the world turned more and more to oil, gas, and coal.

Viewed in the new (3rd) millennium, Haldane’s 1923 lecture seems remarkably farsighted. Most renewal energy resources, Hayes added, are not continuous. For instance, solar cells make electricity whenever the sun shines on them, but at night they produce no power. Wind turbines stop spinning when the wind stops blowing.

Hydrogen can help fill in these gaps. Hydrogen (H2) is the lightest and most abundant element in the universe. When hydrogen is burned or processed in a fuel cell, it combines with oxygen to release energy, said Hayes. Pure drinkable water (H20) is the only by-product. Hydrogen according to him is the cleanest, healthiest fuel possible.

Deuterium (or hydrogen) according to a reliable source abounds in the Philippine Deep. And yes, Mang Pandoy, deuterium deposit is only found in the Philippine Deep. Praise the Lord. In the not-so-distant-future, the Philippines would be the sole exporter of hydrogen according to a reliable source.

The Deuterium deposit as revealed by the American satellite findings has a length of 868 miles which stretches from Bicol to Sulu., It is 52 miles width and 3 miles deep. Hydrogen fuel according to reliable source will replace fossil fuels. Hydrocarbon age is about to end, experts said.

The answer is yes. The Philippines will indeed become a future major energy source of the world.

I read that deuterium is artificially made using very high pressure and understandably that is very expensive to do. But because the Philippine deep already has naturally occurring high pressure forces, that natural process of deuterium production is relatively cheaper and is also naturally replenished. Meaning, every time deuterium is siphoned out of the Philippine deep a new batch of water takes its place to be naturally pressurized.

Philippines has a good potential fo be the world's powerhouse for energy source. Philippines is rich of deuterium. It can be extracted from the fart of corrupt politicians through distillation and since Phili has plenty of that then. :)

Thank goodness it's beyond the reach of China! Now that's really far away from China or else they will claim it too!

Since there should be a really wonders ..
The Phil's are lazy to do anything.
Why not use all the wealth you have? Why is RP not self-sufficient in rice, vegetables and why not utilized solar energy.
There are so many things you can in RP, but laziness, corruption and lack of "we can, JUST simply we have to work" this is the solution to many of RP's problems.

An arrogant chinese anchor claim that Philippines is belong to China.China realized the vast potential energy source of Philippines such as oil and natural gas.they fabricate history and own version of map to prove their claim. The Philippines must prepare for future invasion.

I agree. And also, once the oil and gas deposits of the world have all dried up and the only source of viable energy left is hydrogen that is only found in the Philippine deep, powers such as the United States and Europe will not allow China to solely control the deuterium deposits of the Philippines by invading the Philippines. It will be like Saddam Hussein invading Kuwait. The US and Europe will not allow one country such as China to solely control the only source of viable energy in the future which is the deuterium deposits the Philippines.

Hydrogen or deuterium is the only safest, viable and abundant source of energy in the near future compared to nuclear and other forms of limited renewable energies. And it is only found in the Philippines.

Hydrogen technology is not cost effective, when you have to put in more then you get back in energy ....

and in any even

China says thats our deuterium

.
.

plus

The problem faced by those who wants to extract natural deuterium from the Philippines seas is probably the enormous pressure that is existing in the very area where deuterium are supposed to be found. To reach the area of deuterium concentration, a drilling system should reach a level of at least 30,000 feet deep into the ocean, where the water pressure could reach as high as 10,000 psi, or the equivalent of 10,000 tons of load pressuring from all direction. Apparently, there is no material known today that could withstand such enormous amount of pressure.

For the meantime of course. But once all the oil and gas deposits of the world have all dried up, by that time, scientists should have anticipated and figured out something around that problem. Necessity is also the mother of inventions. Nuclear power is not for everyone. Other forms of renewable energy is still limited or not enough to support the growing world population and are also likewise need more research and improvement as with hydrogen technologies. Hydrogen along with other renewable energy technologies and nuclear power, in the future, will certainly be highly developed and used by that time when the oil and gas deposits of the world have all dried up.

Western powers say that's our deuterium too.

The Philippine government duding the 80s already attemted to extract the Deuterium in the Philippines deep but they failed because when the long tube reached the Deuterium site it just closed because of the tremendous pressure.

Filipinos are sitting on a sure enormous wealth but for now waiting for a viable technology to extract it. It's like a child waiting for a trillion dollar inheritance but can only have it when he turns into an adult. But nevertheless he will surely eventually have it when he becomes an adult or in the case of the Filipinos when a technology is developed.

We need to drill oil and gas deposits in our territory now. Those chinks need to be shot point blank in the head!! If I had a f-22 raptor jet fighter id bomb those chinks now!!

WE NEED TO START MAKING MORE NUCULAR PLANTS SO WE CAN MAKE LAUNCH OUR OWN MISSILES AND TARGET CHINKMAN AND HOPEFULLY WIPE THOSE CHINKS FROM THE FACE OF THE MAP!!

It's not that we're not doing anything about this energy issue. It's just that technologies such as offshore drilling, solar, wind etc in reality are still not affordable for 3rd world countries. I believe that once the world oil and gas deposits have all dried up, scientists will be pressured to make all those technologies affordable like when scientists during the cold war in both sides were pressured in the space race to produce attainable technologies in the race for the moon.

Once the world oil and gas supplies have all dried up, the energy sources will be nuclear, deuterium, wind, solar, hydro, wave, geothermal and bio fuels. Except for nuclear, the Philippines have all of those mentioned. Of course by that time all those technologies will be much more affordable.

Fossil fuels are also bad for our health and contributes to catastrophic climate change. So the use of fossil fuels will be banned in the future even way before the world oil and gas supplies totally dries up. Oil will be limited to plastic products manufacturing only, or no longer used as fuel. Therefore the shift to deuterium will speed up or will be much sooner.
