They (Roman Catholic Church) don't pay any taxes to the development of country. But they always interfere in politics and law making. They dont allow to bring modern laws for the prosperity of the nation. They have been acting as king makers after independence. They acted as tool for Spaniards and supported them for colonizing our country. They deceive Katipunan revolution...

We citizens pay taxed to the Government. Why Roman Catholic Church the most Rich religious sect in the world is not paying taxes for the construction of our country? Why they are not allowing the government and people to move forward to the new age? Share your opinions.

Since Malta voted for divorce leaving the Philippines the only country in the world that has no divorce the Catholic Churches days are numbered.

Understand though, politicians and the rich here love the law. They trap their wives, mistreat them. Its time to give women protection and rights.

Taxes should be only the first thing they should have to pay. How about building some hospitals to care for all the people they hurt with their insane beliefs?

INC to let's not forget them they should as well. The way INC lords over the Phils by forcing members to vote for only their hand picked candidates? They should be dragged in the street beaten.

The following news is very interesting:

http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/05/16/11/ch...
Church's tax boycott threat over RH bill nixed:

MANILA, Philippines - Catholic Church leaders' call for their members to boycott tax payments to the government as a "form of protest" against the reproductive health (RH) bill will only "benefit major tax cheats," a lawmaker said on Monday.

Akbayan party-list Rep. Kaka Bag-ao said the threat of a tax revolt would only serve the interest of big-time tax evaders who will use the church and the RH issue as convenient "tax shields."

"This is precisely what big-time tax evaders are praying for. Armed with a new milieu to exploit a particular issue, these major tax cheats might ride the anti-RH bandwagon just to avoid paying taxes," Bag-ao said in a press statement.

Bag-ao, who is supporting the RH bill, said the church's tax revolt threat is unjust.

"The government is currently embroiled in the fight against major tax cheats; the call of the church for a tax boycott is misguided. It will not encourage people to lucidly participate in the RH discourse or responsibly exercise their right to protest, rather, it will only invite unscrupulous individuals to further muddle the issue while helping them evade from paying correctly their tax commitments," she added.

Bag-ao said she would not be surprised if big-time tax evaders will suddenly put their weight on the anti-RH campaign. "Like any form of protest, the political context must be seriously considered. And the current context is, the state is waging a campaign against major tax cheats. With the Catholic church hierarchy's tax revolt threat, they may unintentionally undermine this."

She cited Ang Galing Party-list Rep. Juan Miguel Arroyo and his wife, Angela, who are facing a P73.85-million tax evasion case filed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

The young Arroyo's mother, former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, is reportedly opposed to the RH bill, according to Akbayan.

During her 9-year stay in office as president, Arroyo joined the Catholic church hierarchy in opposing the bill.

Last November, the former president and Parañaque Rep. Roilo Golez filed a House bill to oppose the RH bill, Bag-ao said.

the catholic church is exempt from paying realty tax for all property directly engaged in education, religion. that is the only thing the church is exempt from paying.

how about the donations from its members? the BIR does not bother to tax the donor (under the law it is donor that pays for donors tax not the donee which is the church), why would you tax a 5 peso donation?

for everything else the church is taxed.

how about the leftist, communist block, who are tolling the masses with their "revolutionary" tax, has that helped our country? ikaw komunista ka ba?

There can be a Government body for checking whether Churches (Mosques, etc) and related institutions are properly using the funds they are getting. Is there any record for the wealth of religious institutions? They became center for keeping black money.

Churches get off tax free it's insane. Look at all the wealth the INC church il make in their new dome from boxing matches and other sports. They seem most excited about boxing though as heir spokesmen always saqy the dome will host boxing matches. Yes but it will be CHristian boxing. Where two men will beat each other up for Jesus. Christian blood flying. Almost naked ring girls for Jesus.

ANd unlike other arenas that have to pay taxes they will get to keep it all and not pay one peso to the Philippines government.

Insane.

RC and INC and other religion that would like to have involvement in politics should be taxed given a seat in congress so people can discern for themselves after the deliberations. Not on the pulpit where brain washing is done.

Way I see it squatters should be allowed to squat inside every church owned building, for one thing they keep saying they want to help shelter the poor anyway, and since they pay no property taxes their land as far as I'm concerned should be considered public land.

Bornleader,
You are absoultely right when you said that the Roman Catholic Church interefere in politics!!! It is not only in the Philippines that this cult is involved in deposing duly instituted governments but also in other countries as well!!!
Laws which are needed for the advancement of a country are being hindered by the Roman Catholic Church!!! A country so small but with a meteoric rise in population such as the Philippines needs laws to limit the rise of its population!!!
I agree with you that the Roman Catholic Church was a hindrance also to the Philippine Revolution!!! It was a Roman Catholic priest who divulged the Katipunan secret to rise up in arms against the landgrabbers after a woman had made a confession on the matter!!!

Don,
Divorce is unbiblical and what had been joined together by God should not be separated by the laws of men!!! There are other ways of improving the impoverished lot of the Filipino people without resorting to divorce!!! We have done these in the Iglesia Ni Cristo through land distribution, housing, job fairs, birth control seminars before and after marriage, job training, civic actions, environmental clean-ups, medical and dental missions, etc.!!!
Women in the Iglesia Ni Cristo are being treated as equal partners of man in raising and nurturing a God-fearing family!!! Like the children, they are not subjected to abuse!!! Seminars about family bonding are always being done in our Church and every household is required to have its family hour by going together somewhere after church services in order to maintain a harmonious relationship from within!!!

Madam Liberty With A Missing Katinuan,
If religions are taxed in the Philippines then there is no problem with the Iglesia Ni Cristo for we will obey it!!! For the problem lies with the false religions of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism!!! They are the ones which are opposing taxation but not the Iglesia Ni Cristo!!!
The Iglesia Ni Cristo never does force anyone of her members to vote!!! No one ever accompanies any member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo when casting the vote inside the polling booth!!!
Your Tuskegee Syphilis has flared up again!!! The germs have all consumed every bit of flesh in your skull and has made it atheistic empty!!!

Most of the major, major tax cheats are close to the heirarchy of the Roman Catholic and Protestant cults and were educated in their religious-run institutions!!! Remember the "ObesePoohs" with their PCSO and PAGCOR provided tinted pajeros!!! They were in Catholic Universities and Seminaries!!! The same with the other crocs!!!

Madam Liberty With A Missing Katinuan,
What would the Philippine government lose because of the Philippine Arena??? In fact, the government will be making money out of it!!! The contractors will pay their taxes to the government as well as the workers!!! It is a blessing to the Philippines!!!
The Iglesia Ni Cristo is paying everyone who are involved in the project and so they benefit!!! Atheists have done nothing yet for the Philippines except to be mendicants in the streets!!!
The Manalo family of the Iglesia Ni Cristo does not own anything for the Iglesia Ni Cristo is a corporation sole!!! Do you understand what a corporation sole is??? It is run by an Administrator not an owner!!! You are an ignoramus getting information from the ignoramus!!!

If religion is taxed in the Philippines then the public has to expect that the false religions of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism will go bankrupt and will then contact the Iglesia Ni Cristo through realtors in order to sell their chapels as what is happening presently all over the world!!!
But the problem is that lots of molestation cases have been filed against Roman Catholic priests and Protestant ministers!!! The lawyers of the abused victims might seek a share of the proceeds!!! But the Iglesia Ni Cristo will not buy anything with problematic and questionable titles!!! Thus, the false religions are really in a major, major trouble!!!

Bornleader,
That is very true and correct!!! Some of their priests are with the atheists in the hinterlands and ambushing government troops!!! It is very ironic when Roman Catholic priests waylaid government forces in cahoots with god-less atheists in the Philippines!!!

I know why you hate boxing!!! You don't want to have more of an evolutionary change in your already promontory lips!!! WAAAAAAAAAAAA KAAAAAKKKKKKK KAAAAAAAAAAAK!!!
