Im also curious how long these relationships last, how long have you been married. If you are male and you were married before then you have a frame of reference, are you more or less happy now that you are married with a Filipina woman. Women can comment here too about their relationships to Western Men.

Hummm, Okay, I have read that this phenomenon is fairly well documented and there is a common theme here. Not always but in allot of cases the Filipina woman has historically looked for an older man for several reasons:
1. There is a larger population of available older men for her to choose from.
2. Older men are more likely to desire a committed relationship.
3. Older men are more established which means financial stability and respect in their community.
4. Older men are relationship wise and appreciate a younger more beautiful woman as a cherished gift and a second chance at life and will treat her well.

I believe there are cases where a Filipina woman is only marrying for money or a ticket out to a better life, but that is unusual compared to the success stories.(Good news doesnt travel far but 1 bad story and everyone knows about it)

I believe if you are looking for a woman in the wrong place, you will find the wrong kind of woman for you. The same goes for Fililina women, if you are attracting the wrong kind of man, you will not be happy either.

I have read of situations where the Western Man is angry because his Filipina Wife left him and then in his conversation you can read that he was misstreating her and beating her and making her his slave!

This is unacceptable!

We can not treat Filipina women this way, eventually she will fight back and it is her right to leave that abusive situation.

I believe Filipina women want to be appreciated and cherished and treated with respect.

Just my thoughts on this matter, maybe a little heavy, but justified...

Hey, Dont let what he said bother you, the rest of us know the truth.

I have heard "Great things come in small packages" and God loves everyone of them. Maybe I will take a hit for agreeing with you but my wife is petite and gorgeous and in fact she smells really good too. Hahaha!

Maybe that guy just had a bad experience with one once and thinks all Filipina woman are the same. If that is the case, that is really sad. But he is entitled to his oppinion and so are you!

Well at this moment 19 couples have voted and I see that 10 of those voting (more than half) are 18 years or more older than they're wife and 6 of the 10 are more than 25 years older.

Very interesting,

Most of the couples I know are within 5 years of each other and I know several. I really don't think it matters to any of them though. The only people who really care are the people who want to call someone a craddle robbin' prev.

Hey Don, I think I just started this poll to confirm an ideal that you just pointed out, that when 2 people love and care for eachother in a very deep way age doesnt matter.

I see at this moment that 23 couples have voted and 10 (43%) of them voted they were 25 years or more older than their Filipina spouse. Not what I expected but I am pleased to be counted as one of those men blessed with the love of a young, vibrant and charismatic Filipina woman.

Don't worry about it. People will think what they want. When people met my wife and found out how nice she is they forgot all of that nosense. We don't run into any racist stuff or anything. Just enjoy your marrage. There is no doubt in my mind I have the best possible woman on earth for me. She stand by me though what ever comes along and she is the best mother I have ever seen.

Wow This is cool, I see at this date 14 out of 37 couples voting said there was 25 years or more difference between them. Twice as many as the next highest age difference group 18-24 years difference.

I only started this poll so we can be supportive of each other and talk about the wonderful blessing we now uniquely share.

Im sure someone with an axe to grind will come along and shake the coconuts out of my tree! Hahaha

Whatever, I know im blessed and most of your lucky Westerners are too.

In all these forums on the internet about age gap relationships between Filipinas and foreigners, almost no one acknowledges the minority, though a significant minority, of men who date filipinas OLDER than them.

In fact, according to one profesionally done survey I saw on the internet, 1 in every 7 Filipina - Foreigner couples have a woman who is at least one year older than the man.

FOr me, I am 24 and dating a 28 year old Filipina. Its just because I have always been very mature for my age, and I find the immaturity among Western girls intolerable. That is why I am dating a filipina older than me.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that many young, beautiful filipinas who marry balding, older foreigners are looking for a sugar daddy. Don't be naive. I hear of a lot of filipinas who move to the US with their fat, middle-aged new husband and leave them a few years later for a younger guy. The only thing that is surprising is that the old guy is surprised! LOL!
I know several couples in my area that are American/Filipina. Their marriages all are 5-12 years old, all have children, middle aged couples, work for a living with middle and even low incomes. None have split up yet. From what I see, your "Sugar Daddy" theory just hasn't happened in my rural area of Michigan.

This is not an exageration. This is true, really really painful truth.

What does THAT tell you?
Do you honestly believe that a hot, young Filipina would prefer to date a bloated middle-aged foreigner if it wasn't for the money and greencard? Don't be so naive.
All things being equal, I am sure she would prefer to date a pinoy her own age.
I guess the filipina scammers and the lecherous old foreigners DESERVE each other! Yep--a match made in Heaven. LOL
It tells me the poll is niether scientific or accurate. Don't be so naive.LOL
