Abbas cannot be trusted. "I wanted to establish a unity government with Hamas that would negotiate with Israel," he said. "Syria's Bashar Assad supported me... I am not the only one who wants recognition of Israel; the Arab initiative, which is a matter of consensus in the Arab and Islamic worlds, also says this." Abbas was happy about rejecting the notion of Israel as a "Jewish state." He said that in the Annapolis Summit of last November, "they wanted us to agree to a summation saying that Israel is a Jewish state, and we objected strongly. The summit almost blew up because of this." The roots and the targets of the “Palestinian” nationalism are explainet at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/...

Is President Bush a friend of Israel ? Palestinian violence has escalated since the 1994 PA establishment and PA officials have produced an unbroken record of unfulfilled promises and outright deception. Yet President Geprge W. Bush in his January 28 State of the Union Address, reassured the Palestinians that America will do, and I will do, everything we can to help them achieve a Palestinian state by the end of this year. Nevertheless, US-favored PA President Mahmoud Abbas, who in 1957 with Arafat co-founded the al Fatah terrorist group, assumed the role of his predecessor. Like Muslim Brotherhood, Marxist-trained Jihadist Arafat, neither does Abbas recognize that confronting terror is essential to achieving a state where his people can live in dignity and at peace with Israel as President Bush declared. Abbas remains committed to the organizations raison detre destroying Israel and expelling the Jewish people from the region. Despite public Fatah-Hamas leadership disagreements, branding one another murderers and thieves, Abbas arranged on Jan. 30 to give Hamas $3.1 billion of 7.7 billion that international donor community pledged last December in Paris. Excellent. The only salvation for Israel is to build, build and build some more {homes, walls, tanks, planes, etc}. Push the Palistinian's out of Gaza and the West Bank and let the OPEC countries support 'em. Isn't it an achievement how these Muslims take care of their own? Such warm generosity to each other, such...compassion. Such BS.

The impertinence of the Arabs. The entirety of Jerusalem as the entirety of the Land of Israel belongs exclusively to the entirety of the Jewish people. It belongs to our generation as well as to the future generations to come, and no one has the right and/or the legitimity to cede even one single square cm. of the city or the land. Agreements as a result of blackmail and pressure are not valid and will not change historical truth and International Legitimacy (The San Remo agreements). Mistakes done by Israeli government(s) in Anapolis or before should not be respected and should be put right immediately. Arabs have no case as to the Land of Israel, we should return to the original legitimity as described at : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2007/...

Building settlements in some one elses land is illegal.(but since when was ths matter to the Israelis? The only international law they accepted was their 55% slice of Palestine, after that its steal steal and steal) The Nazi's called it Lebensraum. Time is on the side of the Palestinians. Frantically building walls, settlements etc is a sign of desperation for the emotional knee jerk reaction to have facts on the ground. All will be in vain.

Albert doesn't the State of Isreal declare itself to be Open, Democratic and Secular? Was this not part of the founding premise of Israel so that it could provide a homeland for world Jews that aspired for a homeland and yet would still allow those non-Jews that chose to remain within the state to enjoy full benefit of citizenship. The secularization of countries in the Middle East has caused nothing but grief, eg.Iran. Once secularization trumps nationality the political miasma thickens.

Prime Minister Olmert agreed to stop building as part of the Annapolis photo-op sponsored by a desperate President searching for a legacy to justify his 2 terms as President of The United States. To cheer on the recanting of a committment would lead one to believe that Olmert's word is as suspecct as Abbas', or God forbid, Arafat's. Olmert is caving in to the demands of the Shas party in an effort to save his coalition government. His ethics are every bit as questionable as any Arab negotiator.

Why not ship fuel from Syria or Iran? After all these countries willingly supply weaponry to Gaza. If the Gazans feel "humiliated" in dealing with Israel for fuel supply, perhaps it is time they look to their Arab neighbors instead!

You cannot have peace while you continue to steal Palestinian land. The settlements are illegal under law and Israel stated they would stop and yet they continue. The West Bank and Gaza are treated like the Warsaw ghetto and reprisal raids very similar. They live under laws far too akin to the Nurenberg Laws for any Jew to be comfortable with them. Even they Law of Return allows any Jew born anywhere to settle there, but Palestinians born there and fled at the sight Jewish bayonet tips and gun barrels can no longer return to the land of their birth. That is exactly like the Nurenberg Laws. Israeli troops act like NAZI's in the occupied territories murdering women and children. And yet, people like you express such outrage when the Palestinians resist. So did the NAZI's when Jews resisted in the Warsaw Ghetto. IF the world wasn't watching, there would be a final solution to the Palestinian problem and people such as you would applaud. We have seen in all before in the 1940's.

According to this logic, all the land in the USA belongs to the American Indians. I sure hope they don't start their own website to explain the same kind of logic or we are going to have a lot of problems here too.

I suggest you enter : http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2007/... and http://israelagainstterror.blogspot.com/2008/... Thanks for the sites.Gives a complete overview of the founding values of the State of Isreal. FRom conversations with other people I got the impression that Israel, altho a new homeland for world Jews to to go to live in peace, was still considered by Her own peole to be open, democratic and secular. These were ,to my mind, remarkable tenets on which to found a nation. It appears that once a state leans more to a faith based society rather than a secular society that is when real problems develop. To go to Isreal as a Jew to escape religious persecution is a well deserved blessing which is long overdue. The fear I would have is the freedom of religion and expression does not become the tyranny of theocracy. Again thank you for responding to my post. Although we often disagree I respect your manner in which you freely discus issues, providing documentation for reference. Paul
