What is TTP? Something like Tehrik Tulba Pakistan? Personally I am not in the favour of dividing this country on the Lissani Basis. But it is a way to move forward.

Saraikis are the victims of the feudal system, as are:

Sindhis with their cruel and inhumane "Waderas".

Balochis with their "Sardars", who are the same.

Saraiki nationalists are often middle-class and are upset at the neglect of Saraiki areas by the Lahore-based Punjabi government.

Also the majority of the Punjabi dominated army is in fact from northern Punjab:

- Potohari and Hindko speakers (varieties of Punjabi) e.g. Jelham.

- Majhi speakers. Majhi is the "mainstream" dialect of Punjabi spoken in Lahore and Amritsar.

The Lahore-based Punjabi government is in fact a Majhi government.

The Saraiki grievance is essentially an economic one fuelled by immense poverty. However if Saraikis were as well off as Lahoris and other Punjabis their allegiance to the Punjabi identity would be stronger.

In general terms Saraikis are just Punjabis i.e. cruel and dishonest.

The Mukhtaran Mai scandal where a Quran teacher was gang raped and made to walk naked was in a Saraiki area.

Southern Punjab/ Saraikistan is also home to many extremist groups such as Lashkar Jhangvi and so on.

Religious extremism will not help Saraikis, nor will the political parties who are dominated by feudals.

What Saraikis would need is their version of Dr Abdul Qadir Magsi, the brave Sindhi patriot who is against fedual oppression in Sindh.

When Pakistan is broken up, in my opinion there should be:

1. A Pakhtun state consisting of Pakhtun areas.

2. A Sindhi-Balochi federation consisting of both Sindh and Balochis. Half of Sindhis are actually ancestrally Balochis including some of the senior Sindhi leaders such as Dr Abdul Qadir Magsi, who is from the powerful and respected Magsi tribe of Balochis. Zardari is also a Balochi.

Progressive-minded Balochis cannot fight against the cruel and greedy Sardars if Balochistan is independent but would need the middle-class educated Balochis of Sindh to destroy the cancer of feudalism.

3. A Saraiki state consisting of Saraiki areas including those Saraiki tribes who are in fact Balochis such as the Legharis etc. The majority of Punjab should go to this state.

4. A "Majha" state based around Lahore and also including Sialkot.

5. A Potowar state or "Chennab" consisting of Rawalpindi, Islamabad and those areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa which are majority non-Pashtun and want to be with Punjabis.

6. An independent Kashmiri state.

So:

a: A Pakhtun state.
b: Balochi-Sindhi state led by Dr Abdul Qadir Magsi.
c: 3 Punjabi states.
d: Independent Kashmir.

Pakistan should be broken up into 6 states and not 15 which the old USSR was broken up into.

I think it is their right to get separate province, because punjab is too large, it must be divided, all punjabi government ignored this area.

We need to accomodate our Seraiki brothers in an amicable and just way for that a Seraiki Province is necessary. A Seraiki province will also lessen the influence of Punjab and other Provinces will have more breathing space in the affairs of the country. I'm glad that even we Punjabis having started to see it this way.
