Too bad the illterates don't realise that it is the man's seed that determines sex of child not the women.

Wonder what happened to the child?

Too much illiteracy in Pakistan. Horrible to kill a living human being . But this practice of killing is well established in Pakistan. Hundreds of innocent people die every month. ISI trained these people to spread
Terrorism abroad but they could not go abroad for the western countries are a little bit wiser now, what could they do to their training then they started killing within the country. May be this is a family ignorant but if you keep people illiterate and only educate them in Madrassas that's the result, they kill their own for a flimsiest
Excuse. May God give the departed soul peace and hope the little soul is looked after well which I doubt.

You mean the same way a 5 year old girl was raped in Edinburgh last year? Illiteracy is everywhere.

Last I checked, acid attacks and honour killings with impunity are not ravaging the UK. And..our police do something about it!

Only in Pak. and India are women considered less than dogs.

Last I checked, UK is ravaged by rape and other physical abuses with about 60,000 - 80,000 cases every year but only 600 - 800 people are convicted of rape. and you say pakis and indies consider women dogs? lawl

Britain's violent crime record is officially worse than any other country in the European union with about 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 cases detected every year. Compare that to Pakistan where last year the total number of crimes was estimated to be between 700,000 to 800,000 including both reported and unreported.

Lets also not forget that UK's population is 62,218,761 compared to Pakistan's total population which is 173,593,383 and even so the crime rate there is almost twice as much. India's total population is 1,170,938,000, that's 19 times more than UK and the total number of crimes reported and unreported are estimated to be around 1 to 2 million. That makes it about 55,000 cases each year in comparison to UK's total population.

Your statistics are wrong - total crime in the UK was less than 500,000 for the past year. Its interesting to note that the ethinicity with the highest percentage of crime is those of Pakistani origin.

Your rape figures are wrong. Besides only 15% of crimes against women are reported in Pakistan. And which women may face some abuse in the UK...the level of violence in Pakistan is much worse. With Acid attacks, honour killings and savage beatings - this is far worse than most countries. Women have no place to escape either.

If you can't take the heat get outta the kitchen.

You like things as they are? no. Well get out there and change it. Be Imran Khan...though his argument is more against the elites as a solution. I say educate at the ground level.

Your time would be better spent doing these things than being in your compound having halva and puris morning til night.

My statistics are quite correct. The source is (www(dot)homeoffice(dot)gov(do t)uk), a UK government's department for drugs policy, crime, counter-terrorism police, immigration and passports.

Also, nobody knows how many crimes go unreported...Because they're not reported. Its an informed but unreliable guesswork.

but if you would like to go with it then experts and police in Pakistan believe that its actually 48% of crimes that go unreported in Pakistan in total and 67% of crimes against women that go unreported.

Same way the UK Police believe that 90% of gay hate crimes, 30% of violent crimes against women, 77% of crimes against disabled people, 80% of discrimination and racially motivated violence crimes, 60% of rapes go unreported in UK.

People in glass houses? We all live in glass houses but some just seem to think theirs are made of bricks. I'm done responding to you anyway, unless you have something constructive to say.

Your figures from the HO include all crimes..such as forgery, fraud, dangerous driving, speeding, possesion of weapons. etc.. Much of these crimes don't exist in Pakistan..and if they did are easily avoided with bribes.

Just concentrate on real crime and you'll see that the figure comes down a lot.

Coming back to the main point..why would woman be burnt for bearing a sex of child that she has no control over. Such crime is rare elsewhere but in Asian countries is common. why?

my goodness, its such a shame that you can just type in what you like even if it is just nonsense. The fact is there are a lot of people around the world who either lack knowledge or just dont care. Its a pity that Sal would make this an issue of naming countries. In actual fact, its people like that who provoke bad situations. Seriously, do something constructive with your life instead of spending it pointing fingers. Figures you get are not always an accurate representation and all governments only allow you to see what they want you to see. Its incredible that you can point fingers at Pakistan where in actual fact the world is in turmoil. If you cant be supportive than at least try not to create a bad atmosphere. Its not just Pakistan, if you look at the history of England you will see that this and other bad things happen in all places.

This horrible treatment of women is quite common in pak but not in India.

May be it might occur occasionally in couple of states in north India which is understandable because these places were ruled by Muslims for very long time and have somewhat Islamic culture.

Killing and abusing women in any part of world should be considered OK.

India does have problem. Couple of states in north India has quite problem and number of female kids is lot less than male because of sex selective abortion. Similarly, China also has lost millions of female babies.

Now, if you do serious studies most of these people in Asia who are for aborting female or killing females belong to lowest THRASH of the community. Compare this to US/west 1 out 4 women suffer violence from domestic partners. At the literacy of west very close to 99%, don't you think western educated men behave like lower level trash in east ?

What a shame!
