You misread what it said. It says 'First Polynesians Landed In Tonga'. It doesn't say that Tongans were the ancestors of all Polynesians does it now??

well that would be the logical thought pattern, to assume that Tongans later went to Samoa, but anyways I was just talkin about all the Hamos that were claiming that Tongans came from Samoa and that Samoa are the real Polys etc. Turns out Tongan's are the O.G of Polynesia

Samoa and Tonga are thought to have been settled almost the same time - Samoa would have been settled not long after Tonga. So how could Tongans have later went to Samoa when Tongans as a people didn't even exist yet?? It's like when the first Poly's arrived here in NZ, they didn't magically turn into Maori as soon as they came ashore.

"Turns out Tongan's are the O.G of Polynesia." It's quite funny you mention this, because there was once a guy called Kava Tonga/King Momo in this Forum (don't know if you remember him). We were arguing and he said something to me like, "If we found out later on that Tonga was settled first, Tongans wouldn't even care. You won't see us going on about it saying crap like 'Tonga is the motherland' etc." And I said "We'll see." (or something like that). It seems he was wrong yet again huh?? LOL...

True. But I bet if Toa or someone else kept going on about it you would get annoyed after a while am I right??
