That would require the same cooperation from Indonesia that we currently have from New Guinea. Can't see that happening. :)

Not exactly ,drop the boat peoples off onto dry land in Indonesian territories like West Papua or wherever it is close enough from the intercepted vessel . So Indonesia can't complain to Australia ,the Police vessel would be crewed by United Nations personal abiding by UN Laws that favours such action .

Politicians in Jakarta have called that Indonesia should be less cooperative with boatpeople issue..due to the Australia's spying on Indonesia

Indonesia's state budget increases 10 percent each year...that's between $15 and $20 billion of extra cash each year...so we have less need for Australia's aid...

Hopefully...the next president will "Say No" to Australian aid...

I personally prefer the more humble, down to Earth..Joko Widodo...

But I warn you...this spying issue will increase support for more nationalist presidential candidate...including ex. Kopassus commander, Prabowo Subianto

Indonesia has broken international maritime laws by not accepting the boat people picked up in their own waters. International laws states that people rescued at sea must be taken to the nearest port. Saying that, Australia shouldn't even be in Indonesia's waters in the first place. It's time Indonesia upheld international law for once.

It has already become a common knowledge that asstralia is the one who always backstabbing their neighbor, we would never forget how did you forced Indonesia to invade East Timor in the first place, and then you blame us, and announce to the world that we are the only villain, how pathetic and hypocrite you are!...

Maybe Indonesia should stop accepting financial aid from 'pathetic hypocrites'(around $AUS550 million annually I believe).

What spying amongst Indonesians occurred when President Suharto ruled ?
Don't you think Indonesia spies on Australia for the same reasons ?
