I'm having the same problem. I've just emailed Burns Ferrall in New Zealand who do stock it to see if they ship to the UK and, if so, how much they charge. I'll let you know if I get anywhere. I've also suggested to Lakeland that they stock it but as yet they have no plans to do so. Let me know if you've had any luck. Judith

Solution: The only alternative I know of is the Amway product - comes as a paste - great - same operation. Non-toxic ... find an Amway agent.

I have a 3-piece stainless steel copper-bottomed steamer set purchased in South Africa 40 years ago. It is still perfect except for the knob of the saucepan lid and the handle of the steamer which have disintegrated. The handle has a retractable hook for hanging. I planned to contact Polaris but discovered that they are going out of business this month. If anyone knows where I can get these spare parts I would appreciate it. uwm@oceanfree.net

Could someone please tell me where I can buy a knob for my Polaris saucepan lid. It's in perfect condition even though it's 41 years old (was a wedding present) and it's still my favourite saucepan! If anyone knows where I can get a knob for the lid could they please e-mail me on callinan@xtra.co.nz (I'm in Auckland)

What sad news that manufacturers of such fantastic products are to go out of business if the rumours are true... the management & staff have much to be proud of. I have a whole set of saucepans purchased in 1979 in Zambia, still in perfect condition except for a couple of handles and lid knobs, so the same question as everyone else really - where to buy replacements?

I have a wonderful set of Polaris saucepans bought from Peter Jones in London. They used to sell th stainless steel cleaner/reviver and my pans do need a good clean. Where does one find such a product? Or should we go to Amway and try their stainless steel cleaner?

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Aries

Don't get embroiled in a bad-tempered skirmish today, for it might turn into more than that if you aren't careful. Everyone seems to be ratty and argumentative, but once you let the first spat take place it's effectively declaring open season. Even though things seem out-of-joint, keep your lines of communication open.
