You oughta just send some of those crooked politicians down there for a live report.

I am not doubting the validity of the requirement to upgrade the monitoring equipment, but I thought the stimulus money was designed to stimulate the economy. A high bang for the buck to increase commerce and to create jobs. I fail to see how the use of stimulus money to purchase upgraded volcano monitoring equipment does that. Sounds like more pork barrel politics.

All three of the previous posts have their points. Realist I think fittingly the first live reporters sent down should be from the Faux News Network. It would be really hard for them to slant or distort that story. And Lefty your point about government pork is well taken. And Local fisherman what a great and funny punchline you delivered. Keep up the good work Hawaii posters!

Like I said, I am not questioning the requirement. Just the source of the funding, along with how many more mega millions in "stimulus" money for projects that do nothing to stimulate the economy.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Aquarius

You're in a tricky position because someone who is supposed to know what they're talking about seems to be spouting complete nonsense instead. If this is an older friend or relative then you can simply smile politely and wait for them to rejoin the rest of us on Planet Earth. But if it's a boss or bureaucrat who's talking rubbish or giving you some puzzling orders, you'll be in a quandary about what to do.
