One DREAMer student discovers too late ICE isn't her friend

Mar 24, 2011 | Posted by: Agent of Chaos | Full story: www.latinalista.net

The story of 20-year-old, undocumented student Olga Zanella is not your typical tale of a "Dreamer" student, raised in the U.S. since the age of 6 and now fighting deportation to Mexico.

Actually this is nothing but another illegal alien sob story.

Regions were protected via territorial borders of their domain, however there was no real understanding of owning land. Lets consider the Wampanoag Nation, the First NA Nation to have encountered the PIlgrims. They were organized like a confederation, with a political leader who presided over other Sachems. They had their own rules and way of life. Considering that the Wampanoag had met fierce opposition from surrounding Indian tribes it's rather obvious they had borders and enforcement.

Land ownership is a western ideological idea, not a Native American one, at least back in pre/post columbian era!

Wow, talk about you proving your sheer ignorance.
Your gonna sit their and try to hide behind the Treaty of Guadalupe when in fact Manifest Destiny was the driving force behind all the controversy that led up to the Mexican-American war?
Did John Slidell not first offer to purchase the Southwestern U.S. from Mexico when then Mexico said, "NO " What occurs next was just another exploitation of land that did'nt belong to the United States.
Was Santa Ana not under duress to sign the Treaties of Velasco while imprisoned. The Treaties of Velasco was an unofficial Treaty that not even the Mexican Congress validated yet the Expansionist still used that Treaty upon the U.S. Congress to lie regarding the Thornton Affair. U.S. troops indeed had crossed the border into Mexican Texas, which Mexico maintained began south of the Nueces River.
After U.S. expansionist found their corrupt excuse to justify war they overwhelmed Mexico to there demise. Upon defeat the U.S. shoved the Treaty of Guadalupe into the mouth of Mexico. With the United States occupying Mexico City what choice did Mexico have?
The United States Expansionist lied to Congress just like George Bush lied to the American people about weapons of mass destruction to justify the Iraq war.
Joshua Giddings called the war with Mexico "an aggressive, unholy, and unjust war," and voted against supplying soldiers and weapons. He said:
"In the murder of Mexicans upon their own soil, or in robbing them of their country, I can take no part either now or here-after. The guilt of these crimes must rest on others. I will not participate in them."
Abraham Lincoln, contested the causes for the war and demanded to know exactly where Thornton had been attacked and American blood shed. "Show me the spot," he demanded.
Robert Toombs of Georgia declared:
This war is nondescript.... We charge the President with usurping the war-making power... with seizing a country... which had been for centuries, and was then in the possession of the Mexicans.... Let us put a check upon this lust of dominion. We had territory enough, Heaven knew.
The United States Expansionist succeeded in their Manifest Destiny and USURPED THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES FROM MEXICO.
Disclaimer: I'm not a Reconquista but I do acknowledge that the USA utilized a controversial ploy on Mexico via Manifest Destiny & usurped the southwestern territories from Mexico.
You're a poster child of U.S. indoctrination.
The US paid $15,000,000 to Mexico for the territories.

As victors in the War, we could have taken everything, Rico. It is not our fault if we emerged victorious in the War or we were bertter businessmen.

The US owes Mexico NOTHING

U.S. funding of the Afghan war stayed relatively stagnant between $15 billion and $20 billion annually for the war's first five years as the budget for the Iraq war exploded. In 2007, for example, the United States spent nearly four times as much money in Iraq as it did in Afghanistan.

I know they paid money for the territories. But you must consider the fact that Mexico had guns pointing at their heads while the negotiations took place.

My point here is that regarding the Mexican-American war, President James Polk a well known expansionist who endorsed Manifest Destiny during that era wanted the southwest and sent Nicholas P. Trist as a commissioner to negotiate a treaty and also sent General Winfield Scott who actually found a traitor within the Mexican government and that traitor was Dictator/General/President Santa Ana.

President Santa Ana was so corrupt that he was actually negotiating such insanity such as US advancement into Mexico City & small cash advances without Mexican Congressional approval to Trist & Scott that of the 5 generals meeting with Scott 3 of the generals voiced opposition to the project on moral grounds, "saying that it was no more than a plan to influence officials of a nation to betray their country with bribery." [The Treaty of Guadalupe Hildago author: Griswold Del Castillo page 28.

So when you hear Reconquistas stating that the southwest was stolen, you have that right. But be sure to tell them, "and WTF you gonna do about it?" LMFAO

That's all you have to do, tell them they got punked becuase politically, Mexico was weak and the USA was simply stronger.

Moral of the story the southwest was acquired by US military force and was forced to sell the southwestern territories or else!

Stolen, purchased, yadda, yadda - ignorant Americans think one way and ignorant Mexicans think another.

Thats what happens when you take things by force.

But hey, I'm an American so hellz yea, Mexico got punked American Gangster style.

Spanish (the European language from Spain that was brought to Mexico) was my first language, and I already have a job... a good one at that, except I have to speak english in order to work there.

The question I ask was "IS all this for the good of our country? Is the US going to get better because of this influx"? Well is it?

We have seen what has happened in Maywood Ca. where 98% is hispanic. East LA, Salinas Ca another few where the majority is hispanic and thing there don't look so good.

Ya living in a bubble or something?
No I live a California where the obvious is being observed.

it funny how you blame it on the lack of opportunities that lead to those socioeconomic ills, yet you don't point out that there are people who succeed and prevail in these situations. Just look how Indans, Chinese, Middle Eastern people do it in these situations and other don't

They are also non-tolerant to ANY other race... That's the problem. The KKK does NOT represent America... It only gives it a black eye.
