I notice you did not mention AIDS, perhaps you know about the Catholic church's position on condoms. Let me quote Jomo Kenyatta "When the Missionaries arrived, the Africans had the Land and the Missionaries had the Bible. They taught how to pray with our eyes closed. When we opened them, they had the land and we had the Bible". Perhaps if you want to do intellectual battle with Athiests, Africa probably is not where you want the argument to go. Don't even get me started on your 'World Vision'
types and the damage they cause.
all im saying is theres better ways to use money. same with christians.

Those that feel they are superior due to their belief in god are true sheep, blissful in their ignorance.
They are fundamentally so ignorant, that they can't see that fraud on behalf of supporting their god doesn't make him stronger, but brings his weakness down to that of the dumb believer's.
Many times has a judge commented in court on the propensity of Christians to lie and spread hatred on behalf of the control which they attempt to force on others in the name of their god, by enacting it into secular laws.
Religion dulls the mind, not marijuana!
Anyone equipped with normal powers of reason and uninfluenced by the idiocy of belief, reading these exchanges would plainly see the truth in this statement.
i dont feel superior to anyone. anyone who says there a christian and says there better is kidding himself. and about the spread the word thing. i try to do it but if they dont want to listen thats fine im not going to MAKE anyone do it. im just going to OFFER it. take it or leave it really.

Why not allow your god to offer it, that way if he sees fit to enlighten someone else in another, better way for that person that, God, not you, can tailor the message for him?

Why is it that Christians feel the need to offer a belief system on behalf of the Holy Spirit?

For a few good reasons do some promote their religion but most proclaim their religion for the wrong reasons: strength in numbers, political clout through conformity, control of people whom they feel needing control, to market their value system so that it gains in value, to build power associations within social groups for nefarious purposes, for business purposes, to cloak how evil they are at the core by pretending to be pious in public congregation, to practice deceit on fellow humans

I have been to the Full Gospel Businessman's Meetings and many bible studies.

Every time religious fervor spurs people to market their belief system there is nothing spiritual to be found in the results. All it ever boils down to is human crap and effort poorly disguised as something Nobel.

The only times that I have had true spiritual experiences, of an enlightening nature, was when I was in a self induced Holotropic state and seeking such an introduction.

Why not leave it to your god to touch someone? Don't trust him to be able to do his job?

If you promote, the chance always exists that the person receiving your interpretation may confuse you for the message.(I think that is really the reason why people often promote it openly: they are wishing to be judged OK/good by their association with god, nothing more.)

Your confusing Christians with liberals. Christians help who they can, most couldnt care less about helping people who pretty much have themselves to blame for a lot of there problems.

Are you kidding? On the whole, Christians are the other side of the coin when it comes to forcing people to "live the right way". They're essentially the "tails" to Liberalism's "heads".
Don't think so? Let's see:
Liberals
- Don't read books with religion in them
- Don't say words that are hurtful to others
- Don't watch movies that contain any hint of sexism, racism, theism, capitalism or bigotry.
Christian Conservatives
- Don't read books with sex in them (any kind)
- Don't say words against the Church
- Don't watch movies that contain any hint of sex, alternative lifestyles or secular superiority
They're different only in what they want you to not be able to do as a member of a free nation. But they're still most out to tell you what THEY don't want you to do.

That is the most troubling aspect "because i thought."

Although Christians whole world revolves around their beliefs, they also then claim that they can operate as well in the world of reason especially when deducing things for others what others should do with their money and minds.

Substitute "controllers" for the word Christian and you will get a sense of how you appear to the rest of the world, imo.

Do you see me telling Paul, or you, how you should spend your money, what has priority.

Why can't Christians just say this is what I think and not exhort others that they should also think this way? When expressing your own thoughts on an issue why do direct it so personally and in such a controlling fashion?

(sigh) dude what he does with his money is his choice im not controlling anyone belive what you want to belive live and let live. i was just simply suggesting and offering ideas (albeit harshly i admit) thats it. do your own thing i was just trying to help in the end its your choice.

Better ways to use christians? Do tell. I've always thought using them as examples of how not to do things might work.

Here in Britain most people's reaction to them is either "There are ads on the side of the bus? I can't say I'd noticed" or "Oh yeah, I'm not bothered either way"

I am a Christian and I am proud to say Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour.
Here are my thoughts on this.
If an Atheist doesn't believe in God does he/she have anything to actually discuss? Why are they so upset about "Nothing" How does one talk about Nothing?
An agnostic well at least they believe in something. They may not call it God but with an agnostic there is hope.
As for the churches out there,What would Christ do?
Would He start an uprising over this or would He turn the other cheek?
Perhaps he would just say to these folks, Get behind me Satan.
Religous leaders, we do not have to defend Christ,He is much bigger than you and I.He's got this one covered, however we can pray for the lost.
Yes they are lost. How do I know this?
Look what they are doing? They are looking for attention beit good or bad. Don't encourage them.
Would a parent encourage bad behaviour?
Remember God is our Father
By any chance did anyone notice the sign said "Probably No God"
It didn't say there was NO God.
which leads me to ask is there really Atheists?
Make up your mind so called Atheist is it No or Probably.
Leaders of the churches remember God gives us Free Will.
This includes "Atheist"
We chose Life they chose "probably" nothingness.
Christians of all religions lay down your sword of anger that is not of God and sing out loud the praises of God.
Actually, atheists chose FREEDOM from the toxic baggage of gods, religions and churches, and the religious slavery these religions and churches imposed on everyone else.

Sorry if you and other hard-line theists have such difficulty with that freedom, but that is hardly my problem. So far, I've yet to hear how our being free from religions and churches affects the theists' choice to follow a religion or attend a church, and I don't expect an answer anytime soon.
