Can anyone hook me up with information on Niue sports and how Niue is getting or creating 'potential' professional athletes? Im researching it for my paper at Aut. Ive tried online but not enough info. Mainly the youth in Niue.
Thanx

Hi Manda, there is the NISANOC association which is our sportsbody in Niue. There are NZ based organisations but participation in international sports codes is pending on our headbody. They might be able to answer your question regarding potential professional athletes. You have the likes of Dean Halatau (Rugby League) but not to sure if NISANOC had a part in his career. Hope this helps

You sound a bit hollow mate.. pehe e tau tupuna ka ai fai mena ke vagahau lapu e gutu.. fano ke tutuli punua moa i fafo- if you can manage...
Good luck on your studies Mandy. Some of the specific people that you can contact are: Emani Lui, Des Hipa or Alan Tano. These good people have invested a lot in developing sporting talents in Niue despite the many challenges there are including the myopic attitudes of some Niueans.
