This singing astronaut thing is a total have. It was completely planned in advance and is a media manipulation. But they try to make it look so spontaneous and everyone falls for it. Yawn.

I didn't think they tried to make it look spontaneous. Planned or not, it's a classic song, and uniquely executed. And adding in the real footage from the ISS gave a new level of depth to the song.

Stop being such a killjoy Tweeter!

Agreed, Gutsfull - I liked it. A great song, well performed by a really likeable guy. Bowie liked it too!

Of course it was staged. You and Tweeter are just grumpy old men. With the emphasis on the old!

I just hope no Maori space was transversed during the flight otherwise they will demand compensation for that no doubt. But seriously the fact that in this day and age we can view such an accomplishment as anyone singing and( doing it well) whilst circling the globe does celebrate the genius of mankind. Those of you who are being party poopers on this well fair enough but I would genuinely like to know what you would consider uplifting/inspirational if this isn't?
