November 21, 2003: This book is indeed a masterpiece written by a real King himself, his majesty the Hawaiian King David Kalakaua of the Merry Monarch from proud Hawaiian-Samoan lineage. The Hawaiian King himself proclaims the Kamehameha lineage back to the Ali'i chief from Samoa, brought over by a high priest named Pa'ao from Samoa. The Hawaiian King clearly identifies which ruling alii chief families descended from Tahiti, Society islands, Marquesas and the Ali'is who ruled big island Hawai'i from Samoa, the alii chief Pilikaeae or simply Pili.(This information is stored at the Hawaii State Archives at fact, I personally checked it out myself). The book is testament to the vast knowledge of the great Kamehameha Kings in King David Kalakaua. The written word by the Hawaiian king should be heralded as supreme for he possessed the highest of confidence, counsel, validity and security of information from his own family, advisors and educators of the finest institutions of his time. The King's book is truly of highest value and respect, very eloquent, academic and articulate. The book is highly educational and full of information, which clarify a lot about the origins of the Hawaiian people from Samoa, Tahiti and the Marquesas. Pele the volcano Goddess was of Samoan stock too from Samoa to Puna, Hawaii according to the King Kalakaua of Hawaii himself. Awesome relevations, this is a great source for understanding the birth of the Hawaiian culture and its people. The original Hawaiian people from Samoa and the Society islands. The Hawaiian King proclaims the origins of the Hawaiian people from the Polynesian navigators. A great book to fully understand the beginnings of the Hawaiian people. Written and published by the Hawaiian King himself, King David Kalakaua in 1888. Great book, full of revelations and respect. Hawaiiana, Samoana & Polynesia exposed from a royal King himself, King David Kalakaua. Indeed a masterpiece.

Lot of boasting there, typical of a self obsessed coconut.
So just how long have they had written language?
King? Whatever, nobody cares.

a lot of theory and speculation, Netbanger. It would be more plausible if more substantial facts and correlation were evident.

Thanks for the interesting read.

Maybe this is prophetic as Hawaii was originally called the "Sandwich Islands".

Sure it was always called Hawaii by the Hawaiins, Also Mauna Kea is not an island it is a mountain on the Big Island,I lived on the big Island for 6 years ,also for Netbangers info, the most prestigious school in Hawaii is on Oahu, called Kamehameha college ,interestingly enough a student must prove direct Hawaiin lineage in order to attend,Samoans are not accepted at this college.

You're funny,Aotearoa is called New Zealand,Hawaii was called the Sandwhich Islands By my people after 1776 ,if you want to talk about misquotes its all on you ,as I'm pretty sure you know next to nothing about Hawaii, you already said Mauna kea was an island when in fact it is a mountain ,then you came up with some lame ass excuse for your lack of geographical knowledge, truth is you are just a limited guy who really hasn't gone much further than his own backyard,FYI Poloneysians are not a very cohesive bunch ,Maoris aren't best mates wit Samoans ,Samoans aren't best mates with Tongans and I'm pretty sure the Hawaiins don't like you,

You shouldn't assume to know something that you don't, Jim. If Hawaiians love reggae music, then they would love Adam!(esp. Rebel Souljahz & Kalohi kai).

I'm an original B.V.B (Bad Village Boy) Since coming to the "land of the long white cloud" (this is what Aotearoa means!) I've clashed, smashed and been smashed by nearly every ethnicity this country holds; except for indians, pakistani's??? because they didn't drink, i suppose? Now my closest mates are Samoans, Irish, Fijian, Welsh, Tongan, English, Maori, Scottish, & Niuian's. There are those that keep to their own, nothing wrong with that, but if they wanted to do that why did they come to NZ? why not stay at home, if you aint going to socialise! ayyye???

"You're funny,Aotearoa is called New Zealand,Hawaii was called the Sandwhich Islands By my people after 1776 ,"

that maybe, BUT its ORIGINAL name was NOT sandwich islands. UNDERSTAND?

"if you want to talk about misquotes its all on you ,as I'm pretty sure you know next to nothing about Hawaii, you already said Mauna kea was an island when in fact it is a mountain"

like i said...if youre going to tell a story, you gotta get your facts straight. i never said maunga kea was an island. i said nothing of the sort. and FYI i have a lot to do with Hawaiians. we trained their teachers on our methods of second language learning. their top scholars have been here to visit and we have shared many things with each other. they modeled their hawaiian language schools on our maori language nests.you should stop making assumptions...you're getting everything wrong... hawaiians love us maori.

you said,..... "as Hawaii was originally called the "Sandwich Islands".... to which i replied,.....
" no it wasnt....it was called hawai'i, o'ahu, mauna kea, maui, etc.....wayyyyyyyy before cook got there." UNDERSTAND? u cant say i said things that i didnt say....its called making shet up.....

" then you came up with some lame ass excuse for your lack of geographical knowledge, truth is you are just a limited guy who really hasn't gone much further than his own backyard,"

i said i mentioned maunga kea because to us polynesians, great maunga and landmarks like that are mentioned and used as an identifier,.....its a maori thing bub. ko taiarahia te maunga, ko ohinemataroa te awa. these are the first two things a maori says in their formal introductory speech. its called a pepeha. its your identity....... maunga kea is the pepeha for hawaians....its how we place these people in hawaii , they are associated with their maunga.

"FYI Poloneysians are not a very cohesive bunch ,Maoris aren't best mates wit Samoans ,Samoans aren't best mates with Tongans and I'm pretty sure the Hawaiins don't like you,..."

what a load of crud....all because i pointed out to you that the original name for hawaii is hawaii, not the sandwich islands.

it dont matter how much you try and diss on me, it wont change the fact that the hawaian island chain was NOT originally called "sandwich" islands. you would have been better to say, " in 17blah blah, cook renamed the hawaiian islands to...."

then you wouldnt look like a guy trying to cover up your errors by making up things i said....good grief.... you dont know shet about hawaii....

Look dude now you are making stuff up ,you now say Maunga Kea ,what the f.ck is that, only a moron would doubt that Hawaii was called anything other than Hawaii ,as far as I know there is no original Polynesian word for Sandwich as it took a great mind to come up with the idea of putting an edible substance between two pieces of bread and calling it a sandwich ,of course first you need bread, however it's more likely that the English named the islands after their Lord Sanwich, but I don't really know.None of this changes the fact that you said Mauna Kea was an Hawaiin Island, now you calling it Maunga Kea and defending this in some kind of deep Polynesian way, sorry but you lost me,you can Google the names of the Hawaiin islands and have a little credibility ,just stop making stuff up,apparently Gilligan and the skipper ,you know with the proffessor and the two hot girls ,set off on a three hour cruise from Honolulu and became stranded on an unchartered island, maybe it was Maunga Kea.
