Hello Guinness, Have you thought about looking into the non-profit organization in Maputo and see what they have available…? Look into Care International, World Vision, Save the Children, UNICEF or even BP has an office in Maputo.

Hello Hochimin, I would suggest that you look into World Bank in Portugal and see if they have any openings in Maputo, even as an intern... I hope that will help. Good luck

Hi

I'm from South-Africa, and we've been travelling Mozambique for the past 5 years.
We've been travelling from the Border at Komatiepoort up to Inhasorra.
I would recommend to look for work in Inhambane. The most beautifull beaches and it is central.
Marlin Lodge is a great place, my husband have been there.Marling lodge is on a Island, and as you know the cyclone they had hit Vilanculos the hardest, if you look on the map they lay close to each other. Maybe it is saver not to work on the islands.
The best lodge to work for in Inhambane is Barra Lodge or Flamingo Bay

Hope you find this information helpfull.

I am a 32 year old woman, looking for work in Mozambique, preferably at a lodge. I would like to bring my daughter,(9 years) with me. I have done my open water diving and currently run a busy swimming school in JHB. I am a hard worker and capable of doing just about anything. I am available from January. Anyone with information or knowledge of available work, please reply.
With Thanks

How far have you investigated this?. eg How many sellers of these sheets are there in eg Quelimane,
What is the per ton cost of shipping eg ex Beira to Quelimane.
PLenty of advice..depends how serious you are?

Hi there- perhaps you could help me.

I have extensive experience in marketing African lodges and would love to get involved with helping to promote and market Mozambiquan lodges specifically to the UK and German markets. I am originally from Zim but have been fortunate enough to have worked for some top global marketing agencies. If you could do with a few more guests (paying in £ Sterling) then please feel free to contact me, I would love to chat with you.

So many people looking for jobs, but only me suggesting that people leave the jobs for the poor Mozambicans.

Unless you are going to Mozambique to invest and create jobs, please visit Mozambique on holiday as a tourist, and enjoy! Anyone that has the money to pay the airfare needs the job a lot less than a Mozambican with a family to support.

The kind of employment people seem to be looking for woulds be illegal under Mozambican labour law anyway. For a foreigner to get a job legally, the job has to be advertised publicly, and it has to be proved that the foreigner has more experience and qualifications than the best national candidate. The applicant then has to apply for a work visa before entering the country, after receiving clearance from the Mozambican Labour Ministry (Ministerio de Trabalho)- or you can leave the country, apply for the visa in Nelspruit, South Africa (like I did). The company should then use you to train a Mozambican to take over your post in a maximum of two years - unless there are special circumstances.

You could of course marry a Mozambican, wait six years, apply for citizenship and then get a job as a national.......

Mozambique is a fabulous place, but it doesn't need foreigners taking jobs away from desperately poor Mozambicans.

Sorry to sound so preachy, but I have lived there for a long time.

well said my friend, i totally agree, i have a friend in Maputo who is looking for work, is there anybody out there that can lend a hand?

My friend is currently working in an office environment, is computer literate, can speak English, Portugese and several African languages fluently. All they need is a break.

Cheers

Slow down! You're trying to do too much and it's driving you - and everyone else - up the wall. What's more, if you're in too much of a hurry you'll start to become accident-prone and that will make you even more het up. Try to take any setbacks or domestic mishaps in your stride, otherwise you'll end the day feeling like a nervous wreck.
