Cyprus too expensive

Jul 4, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Cyprus Weekly

Cyprus gives equal importance to all its major tourist markets including the UK, but prices are too high which is why Brits choose other holiday destinations, chairman of the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents Victor Mantovani said yesterday.

....There seems to be a vast difference in the cost of living between Nicosia and other areas of the country, way beyond what one would expect taking all things in to consideration

I'll sit on the fence with that one, however relatively speaking one can't hide from rising costs for basics regardless of which Country you live in, we're all victims of Finance, greed and corruption

Without tourists Cyprus is going to die. Cyprus went bankrupt. What's left now?

Greece has one of the largest, if not the largest Merchant Fleets in the world, soon oil revenues will be pouring in,so keep watching and laughing, don't you realize what they say about the ones who laugh last?

Everywhere in the Euro zone is expensive. The real problem lies with the current mentality of the Cypriots, who when business is bad, chose to take in their price menu's and inflate their already stiff prices. Having paid a substantial increase in price for the same order within a 24 hour period, my family and I decided not to visit this particular restaurant again. What was sad though was that many of the hotel guests had the same experience and were sharing this with other holiday makers. The end result is that out of pure greed, the restaurant lost an awful lot of potential business.

Similar experiences occur when using taxis. As a result you now frequently hear that tourist take the bus because they don't like being scammed by taxi drivers.

This business approach will be the death of the tourist industry as more and more tourist experience it and warn off potential tourists. A beautiful island but sadly becoming well known for corruption and a not so savoury reputation in comparison to other Med areas.

Guy my Son, When are you going to finally admit that u r Turkish? Why are you so ashamed of admitting? Why do you always claim to be British on here?

I would also like for you to explain to me and daddy why you have Gay porno magazines in the closet. When you get off topix, you need to explain to us why you have these in the house.
