I have always thought you should have worn the uniform prior to sending other that wear them into harms way.
Its not a video game. When you make the chto send soldiers over seas to protect other peoples oil, your making the choice to leave people without thier sons, daughters,Mothers, and Fathers.
With all the problems we face here at home, sending troops overseas without any clear purpose doesnt make cents to me.

By the way did you know we are spending nearly 2 pennys to make one these days?WTF?

No one man should have the power to send our nation to war. That is how our founding fathers wanted it to be. Yet we decided to change that, and give the President the power to send troops into combat. We should reverse that, and make Congress do their job.

Unless I missed something, I dont think we are at war with anyone,we just keep sending our troops to every crap hole on the planet without much purpose. But I agree that giving a single person too much power is dangerous.

What are your thoughts on the GOP...

Yeah, keep distracting yourself from the reality that you bozo's have forced Republicans into a defective candidate for President. Amidst all the confusion and dismay by the BS mountain crew, otherwise known as Fox News, over the real Swiss Mitt, Cayman Cash Hole, Etch-A-Sketch, reboot Willard Romoney 9.0 letting his true beliefs about half the country including you be known for all to hear, you might have missed...

One of the most disgusting displays of heartless Republican, contradictory hypocritical, compassion-less policy actions in US congressional history took place.

Republican congressional scum bags succeeded in blocking a Democratic sponsored US Veteran's Jobs bill that would have cost a measly 1 billion and supported 5 prongs of assistance for Iraq And Afghanistan Veterans to assimilate back into the society they fought for. Assistance for housing, job training, physical and mental recovery, higher education.

For perspective on that 1 billion, Bush and Cheney started the Iraq War earmarking 800 BILLION, adding further supplemental funding up to the tune of 1.2 TRILLION!!!!! ALL OFF THE BOOKS off the Budget and borrowed from China. So the War that these Veterans went to combat in for 4-5-6 and even 7 tours of duty costs 1.2 trillion.

So here we are, Dems are asking for a measly 1 BILLION in effort to help those returning Veterans from losing possibly a generation or so of well being.

AND REPUBLICANS just can't bring themselves to let pass this bill saying things like "we just can't afford it now"!!!!!!!!!!

So, the only thing that would bring this whole circus of stupidity by REPUBLICANS around full circle would be for all you Republican supporters on THESE TOPIX BOARDS to all come on here and tell all the Veterans reading here how much you appreciate their sacrifices for their country BUT YOU JUST HAVE TO SUPPORT YOUR REPUBLICANS this election even though it will SCREW VETERANS every step of the way!!!!!

This is also another thing just like Rmoney letting everyone know his true feelings, this is how REPUBLICANS behave!

They don't care about reality, contradiction, destruction, all they care about is ideological purity the hell with everything else!!!

Good luck in oblivion dirt bag Republicans, you'll be in the electoral desert for years until you fix what is wrong with you cause nobody is buying you hypocritical bS any more!!!!!

Ahh and what is the Republican stance on Veterans THIS week, well, let's just say it's even uglier than last week, they never fail to double down on their hatred and disgusting ideological purity pain inducing policy!

This week they are putting a blind hold on a cost of living increase that goes to surviving families of soldiers killed in combat in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars!!!!!

Yes folks believe it or not, this is exactly how much Republicans support veterans.

They think it's perfectly fine to block marginal increases for cost of living realities for veteran's families! It's not enough for these haters that soldiers are dying for this country, being screwed over for helpful benefits that would help them but yes, even families of dead soldiers are being punished for Republican ideological purity and hatred!

Nice going,

Now come on these boards you Republican supporters and tell all the veterans here how much you appreciate their sacrifices but you just have to side with your Republicans this election, to hell with their surviving families should the unthinkable happen to them!!!!!!!

Republicans suck and that's all there is to it!!!!

Perfectly fine to start wars and spend the country into free-fall when they're in charge but when Dems try to support the results of that malfeasance, the GOP is always here to screw the ones who have done the hard work!

Oh, but they would still like to give rich people another 250K on top of the already ridiculous tax breaks they've had over the last 12 years!!!!!!!!!

Anyone that would join today has to be off their ROCKER at any age.
One way to end wars would be to make them raise taxes to pay for the war or we don't go. No more deficit spending for no win wars.

In truth we are headed for a minimum two year forced military enlistment. There are 6 billion people in the world and only 300 million of us.If you do the math,if every person served 2 years,we would still be out numbered.
We are the most second most hated country on the planet,And Isreal, our closest ally is the first.
The future is going to be one hell of a mess, and washington cant get its head out of its ass long enough to fix even minor problems at home.
When the shit hits the fan, does anyone think they will be able to fix it then?

No one would go for a draft after Vietnam. If enough people woiuld refuse to join, there would be no wars. Also, if they had to raise taxes to fight them there would be none. Who would vote for a tax increase to fight in Vietnam or any of the other shitholes we are in today?

A great thing about America is that everyone is entitles to their own opinion, Even if they like you are wrong. You seem to think your vote counts. Its funny to me.The world hates us, bringing every troop home only allows chaos to breed more quickly.

In a perfect world, you could stand in front of walmart with a sign that says "Buy American"And some might notice you,But today in America you could set yourself on fire and not even make the news.

This is a police action, if it was war we would have eliminated every single living thing in that sorry sand box. If you don't believe me just look at the Vietnam police action and see how similar they are. Still being run by politicaly correct generals who only care about that next star. You can not win by building schools, roads and other worthless crap. You can not win the hearts and minds of muslims, because when you leave they will return to the same goat herders and poppy growers that they were before you got there. Eliminate all of them!

We've been interfering with those countries for years. We support Israel after they tried to sink the USS Liberty deliberately.

You keep poking a hornet's nest and you gonna get stung. Switzerland doesn't get attacked cause they mind their own business. Maybe we should learn from them. Vietnam never attacked us neither did Korea, Panama Grenada or Iraq. It's pretty sad that our trillion dollar military only scored 2 victories out of all those wars. The only 2 victories were the tiniest countries, Panama and Grenada. We wouldn't dare attack anyone big like China, Russia or even N. Korea. They might actually fight back.
