If she had done the right thing and gone back to Mexico for her surgery, as she was directed to, she would be there with her parents now. She choose to stay in the US illegally and we get to pay for all of her medical expenses and the full cost of her husband and child because he isn't working to support the family. Soak the US taxpayer for millions of dollars then whine that we won't bring your sorry parents over here to increase the cost on the US taxpayer.

She should not be getting any care or treatment in the US, she should have been deported before any hospital ever treated her. Let Mexico treat their own.

A true "American dream".

She should have taken advice and gone to Mexico. The tumor maybe too close to her spine, still I am sure that a doctor here would have made a brave attempt to operate instead of just looking, maybe fearing for legal consecuences of "malpractice".

Have to say it, but this photo of little bea.ners with puppy faces hopping to provoque pitty from the Americans is to much for Mexicans like me. We see it repetedly.

Their humiliation. OK.

But then, Americans coming to Mexico sometimes think that they will find here such submissiveness and soon find that we are not a country like (have to say it) many people on Japan or Germany that have developed a inner humbleness/cowardice towards Americans.

These people got their Karma. Unfortunately, they also create a wrong vision of what most Mexicans are and feel.

I wonder why she didn't get the surgery in Mexico as was suggested. Did they think that they would get special dispensations because she was here illegally? She should have listened to hospital's recommendation. I don't want to see anybody suffer, but she still had a chance to get the help, but obviously chose not to take it. Soon her little girl will be without a mother because of a poor choice.

This shows the problem with our immigration system. Why has this woman been allowed to stay in the country when it is known she is here illegally? It is amazing that the government would even consider allowing people to enter the country to visit a person who is here illegally.

you are right, I agree completely. They brag about Mexico giving their citizens all kinds of medical care.....so why didn't the husband take her back while he still could to have operation in Mexico? I think there should be a law that demands ALL MEXICAN CITIZENS BE REMOVED FROM US HOSPITALS who need costly immediate life threatening medical treatment to their countries FOR THEIR NECESSARY TREATMENT AND THEIR COUNTRIES SHOULD NOT BALK ABOUT RECEIVING AND EVEN HELP WITH THE EXPENSES TO TRANSFER THEM. tHEIR COUNTRY OWES THEIR CITIZENS THIS MUCH.

Exactly! Why would the government grant a visa to visit a person who should have been deported? She is here illegally and the simple solution would be for her to return to Mexico The fact that she is here illegally and the previous family records show that they cannot be trusted to travel to the U.S. and leave when their visa expires should have made even applying for a visa impossible. The fact that such a matter was even presented to the government and that tax money was wasted reviewing the application shows how ridicules some of the rules are policies can be. Sadly there can be no reform until the pro-illegals stop blocking passage of sensible immigration reform by demanding amnesty for criminals like those in this story.

I do feel sorry for these people but as I said she can return to Mexico so there is no issue. I am glad to see however that the right decision was made by our government, in this rare exception. I some times think the government is intentionally selecting hard luck cases to deny there by gaining sympathy for illegals while allowing millions of known criminals to stay here illegally and exploit the American tax payer.

I don't want to sound cold, but think about how much money she has probably already drained the United States out of. The family could go to Mexico and get her the surgery. Don't blame the States for your mistakes. And unfortunately I wonder how much of this story is even true. She has full eye makeup on while lying there in bed. She'll probably get thousands in charity just for pleading her case openly.

Yes I know what you're saying, the advocates are desperately trying to get sympathizers to get the attention of politicians to intervene and let them do as they damn please allowing the parents come so that their gratitude will be THAT THEN THEY WILL REFUSE TO LEAVE.
