I am glad i left that cesspit of human filth called
South Africa. I was born and lived there for 25 years
but there is only so much one can take. The incompetent government will drive the whole country
into the ground and i fear that crime is only going
to get worse. It was really bad 5 years ago when i left, one could no longer sleep at night like a normal human being without fear.

Take notice, world, of what happens when power is bestowed to those unfit to wield it. I'm happy i
managed to get out but can only believe that, for
SA the worst is yet to come.

I am sure the 2010 World Cup will be a success, the death of 10 to 15 tourists is a small price to pay for the chance to host such an event.
The key question is: will it generate the money to pay for all the expenses?
I say, stuff the lives of the visitors, lets play ball!!!

I am a foreigner and have lived in South Africa for 2 years. I am here because I am married to a South African and we are simply waiting for the chance to get out! This country is a nasty shithole and the sad part is that is the "wealthiest" country on the entire African continent. That should speak volumes for itself! Every criminal in SA is waiting with eagerness for the coming 2010 World Cup, where South Africa will no doubt embarass itself beyond measure. Mainly because the balcks of this country see nothing wrong with the way they live and conduct themselves, much less on the world stage. Foreigners who read this...do yourself a favor and spend your money on a better and safer and cleaner vacation elsewhere!!!

Hi Phoebe

I believe each person is entitled to their own opinion, and mine is based on first hand knowledge and fact.. Uh also working in criminal law till 3 years ago gives one an insight...

I DO live in South Africa, and in a good, high security area, as do other close family members.. WE have ALL experienced 1st hand VIOLENT crime. If it affects one family member it affects them all. Let's not pretend that we don't have bars on our windows and doors, electric fencing, electric gates, CCTV and razor wire surrounding the properties. Not to mention the high-tech security installations and 24 hour armed response. Official statistics recently CONFIRM that SOUTH AFRICA has the 2nd HIGHEST (in the world) murder rate.

Prospective visitors to S Africa ahead of 2010 shouldn't be lulled into a false sense of security. They need to be made aware of the situation as it really is in this country.

Best wishes

Hey, I live in South Africa and let me tell you, I've never been raped, robbed or anything like that!
I am not denying that crime is rapant in my country, but it can all depend on the situation. Walking around holding out your sexy cellphone and expensive jewellery while knowing that you are not in your country is a pretty DUMB idea if you ask me.
I'm not trying to piss you off, Diego, but being conservitave and ALERT is all it takes.

I am a South African now living abroad. Crime is a massive problem there. However, during the WC people should take care not to stray too much beyond the 'secure' areas and it should be fine. You will find that the people are generally veru friendly. I wish I can go but fear circumstances do not permit.

Daily Horoscope for November 28

Sagittarius

You may want to do things on the spur of the moment, but pay attention to detail if you want to avoid unexpected expenses. Even a last-minute decision to go for a bike ride could end up with an injury or a flat tire, so try to think your actions out carefully. Once unpredictable Uranus settles down, you can enjoy a more relaxed attitude towards life. This evening you can let your hair down.
