Gay Couple Sentenced To Maximum 14 Years In Malawi

Full story: news.yahoo.com

BLANTYRE, Malawi – A judge sentenced a couple to the maximum 14 years in prison with hard labor under Malawi's anti-gay legislation, and crowds jeered the two men as they were driven from the court house to jail Thursday.

The harsh sentence for unnatural acts and gross indecency had been expected after the same judge convicted Tiwonge Chimbalanga and Steven Monjeza earlier this week under laws dating from the colonial era. The case has drawn international condemnation and sparked a debate on human rights in this conservative southern African country

From what I read, they deliberately defied the law. They knew the consequences and still try to get away with it. When people commit murder, they know the penalty could be death but they do it anyway. We say we are free in this country but we are only free with the limitation of the laws.

So, you support the jailing of people simply because they are Gay? What church in Houston do you attend? Lemme guess...Second Baptist?

By the way, Malawi has said that if you don't support the law in Malawi, don't donate.

We're gonna take them up on it. Any Church that donates a dime to a protestant church group or aids in anyway a protestant church group will be held responsible for throwing the Gay couple into prison.

But anyway honey, you can't win an argument on Gay rights on its' merits. That's why you support Malawi's actions. Just jail people you disagree with you, huh?

I don't want to hear you whining about about any persecution of Christians. Because you support persecution BY "Christians".

Seriously, where do you go to church? I'd love to know.

Africa needs to come up with the modern times. They still practice Colonial Law. I told the gays here on this board they should kiss the ground they walk on because even today in the year 2010 homosexuality IS NOT tolerated in some places in the world. Hopefully some human rights group can step in and help.
Locking two consenting adults up for thier sexuality to is so terrible. I know they saved a Muslim woman who was about to get lashed for wearing pants in a restaurant.

This repression was brought to you by the largely white Baptists and fundamentalists from the USA, who own the churches in Malawi.

Ahh no! Those people as all do have freedom to choose to believe and implement such beliefs or not! Beleive me I think religion is the biggest fraud, used to control weak minded morons but they chose this! Enough with the negro apologism.

Is religion a destructive tool of ignorance YES, did these negroes have to adhere to it? NO!

First you guys blame WHITES for "bringing the Africans gayness" and then you blame the WHITES for "bringing the Africans homophobia."

I do not believe I posted anything about church or religious belief. I had nothing to do with writing their laws.
Those people knew they were breaking the law. Every country make their own laws for the people to obey. Do you believe in breaking the laws in this country. Then go on out rob, rape and kill. I would like to hear from you from prison.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Taurus

The sad fact is that a certain person isn't making much sense right now. They seem to be talking nonsense, or maybe they've got the wrong end of the stick but are hanging on to it for grim death and refuse to let you correct them. Mind you, there's also the possibility that you're the one who has got themselves in a muddle but doesn't realize it. Scary!
