Dear Santa , zosto si bre tolkav bukvalista ? We don't use that term ..visokozemjan ..
Highlander is gorshtak or gorjak in our language , while Zagora is the old term for highlands ! There are many Zagoras in Europe , including the municipality in Thessaly , for example , as the opposite to Morava which means grassland or Morea/Pomerania/Pomorje which means sea-side land !
The original term for Macedonia was Brygia / Highland and in old Slavonic , Germanic and Celtic the term breg/berg/brig could be translated as mountain or a hilly terrain ! Bourgogne / Burgundy in France , the tribes of the Celtic Brigantines , Bregana or Brezana among the Slavic peoples - all with the same meaning - Highlands ! Even the term Croat means highlander , since it is derived from the word hrbat/backbone and Croatia/Vhrbatia means highland in some of the old dialects , since the first Croatian Kingdom was placed in the Dalmatian mountains etc.

No,you don't use that term at all!I just translate the GREEK word Macedonia in your Bulgaroslavic tongue, that's all!

So,if you accept that Macedonian means highlander, you have to respect it's origins which are Greek!

The rest are just assumptions..

ONCE AGAIN:

MAKEDNOS/MIKEDON/MAKEDON/MAKED ONAS=THE TALL ONE,LONG,FROM MIKOS/MAKROS=LENGHT!

". 1300, Macedone, from L. Macedonius "Macedonian," from Gk. Makedones "the Macedonians," lit. "highlanders" or "the tall ones," related to makednos "long, tall," makros "long, large" (see macro-)."

OK , I accept that the Macedonian means highlander but the original term was Brygia!
Clearly , the ancient Macedonians and Spartens were some proto-Celtic tribes that somehow migrated south of the Alps..
They kept the heads of their enemies as souvenirs , same as the Celts did and their warrior initiation was either to kill an enemy or a wild best , same as the Celts ..
Alexander I the Phillhellene accepted the Hellenistic culture during the 5th c. BC as official at the Macedonian court (for practical reasons) but the Macedonians have kept their separate identity and mentality until the end of their Kingdom ..

**About the Croats and their Kingdom, you are totally wrong!

The Byzantine chronicles mention them since their first appearance in the Balcan as "HORVATI,or HROVATI"...

So,your theory about their mounteneer character doesn't match...

We know about "SERBLI,HORVATI and SLAVENI",the three Slavic tribes that came here..

*Yours kindred is in a absolute accord with the Bulgarians, who adopted the Slavic language!

Ok?

Once Elas got close to Macedonians and sow their phisionomy, Elas language took name Makedon, and turned it in many expretions with wich to describe Macedonian ruling people.
Today those vivid expretions of the past, exist in greek language, not as Greek inventions of name they give to their ruling clas, but names they copy and ajust to their accent.
The name Makedon is not Greek invention or Greek word of discription. The name Makedon existed before Elas, when there was no Greek or Elas influence what so ever. To sugest otherwise is to rewrite history to suit your naro minded thinking.
