But what’s it all really about?

Facing a Friday deadline on a €5 billion bond redemption, Greece was saved by the ringing of the bell by the European Central Bank (ECB) permitting a late redemption of asset-backed securities in exchange for funds to enable it to survive to grind on another day toward fiscal oblivion.

What is really going on here? Why does the EU insist on staving off the inevitable day of Greece’s financial collapse?

To understand these delaying tactics, one must understand the thoroughness of the German mind, for in fact it is Germany which is really calling the tune here in concert with the ECB.

Whichever way the Greek collapse occurs, German elites are determined to be prepared to cash in on the result.

The delay in a Greek solution is simply being occasioned by the time it is taking for Germany to position itself to profit from the outcome.

The Macedonians

Alexander was the son of King Philip II of Macedon. The Macedonians claimed descent from the hero Heracles, son of Zeus. They considered themselves Hellenes.

Philip, who came to the throne in 360 BCE, did much to promote Macedon’s stature. He patronised the arts, stimulated the economy, and organised an unprecedented strong professional army. In his reign, Macedon became the greatest power in the region. He united the whole of Greece and he placed the previously autonomous Greek city-states under his rule in the Pan-Hellenic League. He married a series of princesses from the defeated territories for political motives, seeking to assure himself of their allegiance. Alexander’s mother, Princess Olympias of Epirus, was the fourth of Philip’s seven wives.

S&P lowers Greece's credit rating to 'selective default', again...

S&P announced that Greece’s credit rating was being cut from CCC to SD (selective default) late on Wednesday in New York.

The credit rating agency referenced the December 3 offer by the Greek government to private investors to participate in a Dutch auction to exchange their sovereign bonds for short-term paper issued by the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF).

S&P argued that despite the fact that investors may voluntarily tender their bonds, the distressed nature of the sale, coupled with the fact that investors will ultimately receive less value than they were originally promised, made this a default.

Transparency International (TI) says "Greek people live in a state of 'corrupt legality,' meaning that the law often condones or even fosters corrupt practices. Corruption is endemic: not limited to any party or social class, nor to the public sector."

"The public sector suffers from substantial gaps in both law and practice, thus allowing corruption to thrive. Public officials have been allowed to act for decades without any transparency or effective oversight."

"As a result, lack of integrity, tendency to demand and accept bribes, and unfaithfulness to public service have proliferated. Wrongdoing has eroded the rule of law and facilitated a culture of impunity."

Consider also this Reuters story from Greece:

“For hours the leader of the Greek journalists’ social security fund had been chairing a meeting about disastrous losses on retirement savings caused by the country’s economic collapse.‘She tried to present herself as the fund’s savior and asked (members) to double contributions to 6 percent of salaries,’ said one of those present that night at the Titania hotel.

“When she rose to leave around midnight, enraged fund members first swore, then waded in punching, kicking and tearing at her clothes, according to witnesses. A bodyguard managed to bustle her out of the room, but another group caught her just outside the hotel and gave her a second beating. She spent the night in hospital.

Q. Did the ancient Macedonians considered
themselves as Greeks?
.
A. "Macedonians tended to see the Greeks
as foreigners, an attitude that was generally
reciprocated."
(Grant, M. From Alexander to Cleopatra. New
York: MacMillan Publishing Co., 1990.p.21)
.
Q. Did the ancients see the Macedonians as
Greeks?
.
A. Ancient Greeks never claimed that
Macedonians were Greeks.
This fabrication was concieved after the
year of 1913 as a political tool of the Greek
government to retain possession of this
coveted land.
.
Q.Were the ancient Macedonians Greeks?
.
A.Let us see!
.
* An inscription from Levadia in Boetia
359-358 B.C. "Amyntas son of Perdiccas King
of the Macedonians."
.
* Consider the following statement referring
to the Bactrian King Demetrius that he was
"half Greek and half Macedonian."
.
* According to Westlake, when Thessaly was
on the verge of becoming a province of
Macedonia in 400 B.C., the comments of
Thacymachus who wrote on oration are as
follows: "Shall we, being Greeks, be slaves to
Archelaus a barbarian?(macedonia)"
.
(Westlake, H.D. Thessaly in the Fourth Century
B.C.. London, 1935)
.
* Herodotus speaks of the Thessalians as
the first Greeks to fall under Persian rule in
480 B.C.. Evidence shows that the Presian
armies entered the Macedonian soil in 492
B.C..That puts the Persian armies in
Macedonia for 12 years before they entered
Greece.
> Question: If Macedonians were Greeks
don't you think that Herodotus would have
not made such a mistake?
.
*In 480 B.C. at Tempe Pass, the Greek armies
had taken up defensive positions to stop the
advancing Persian armies. Alexander I
apparently informed the Greeks about their
precarious position regarding the defense
of Tempe Pass. For this action Herodotus
described him as a friend of the Greeks and
dubbed him "phillhellene". This abviously
brings up another question: How can a
Hellene" person be called phillhellene? If
Alexander was already Greek, can he be
called an admirer of Greek?
.
* In 480-79 B.C. the Persian commander
Mardonius chose Alexander as an envoy to
Athens, partly because he was related to the
Persians through his sister Gydea's marriage
to Bubares, and partly because Mardonius
had learned that Alexander was already
"proxenos", a public friend of the Greeks.(In
Athens these titles were aworded to a
foreigners as a honor for having
performed a service that had benefited the
city.)
.
Question: This title is aworded to a
foreigner, which shows that Alexander was
regarded as one. If
Alexander was already Greek, how can he be
called a public friend? Second, if the ancient
Macedonians were Greeks, do you think the
Persian commander would trust a Greek like
Alexander to negotiate for him with the
other Greeks?--

Blood and Dna No make Identity...education does that! I can learn to live next to other Macedonians on the proviso, they recognize the Hellenic-Identity of the ancient-Macedonians.

Macedonians are Greek in the Prima sense, Slav in the Secunda sense. On the hierarchy table Greeks occupy head seating position. Who has got the gall, the nerve, the front or the bottle to eject the Greeks from those seating arrangements!

Dec. 11, 2012: Greece’s Public Power Corporation says it will ignore court rulings that collecting a 100 percent property tax surcharge through electric bills is illegal and will keep doing it, setting off riots that engulf the country, spread to the rest of Europe and destroy most of the world’s population except Greek politicians, their rich friends and the wealthy around the world who flee to tax havens.

Dec. 12, 2012: Greece reveals it needs to borrow another 1.29 billion euros ($1.68 billion) to buy back debt at a 66.2 percent discount, and again ignores paying back small bondholders, some of whom were nearly wiped out in a previous scheme imposing losses on investors.
