http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsolias
"A tsolias (τσ&#959 ;λι&#940 ;ς) is a Greek soldier wearing a modern military dress uniform based on a traditional Greek guerrilla outfit from the 19th century's Greek War of Independence. The foustanella is based on the ancient Greek tunic called a chiton and consists fo 400 pleats, representing each year of Turkish occupation. The red fez [1]is of ancient Greek origin and was worn by Byzantine Greeks, it was later adopted by the Ottoman Turks after 1453. The first King of Modern Greece, Otto wore this uniform often in public. Today, many Greek boys dress up as tsoliades on Greek Independence Day.
In Athens today, the Tsolias is a soldier that serves in the Presidential Guard. Another group of Tsolias are the Evzones. Evzones were named after several historical figures of the Greek army who fought in the mountains. They are usually selected from the Greek special forces and are therefore skilled fighters too. They tend to guard the Tomb Of the Unknowns, the Hellenic Parliament, and the Presidential Mansion.
Homer first mentioned the name Evzone and refers to well-grit men, implying elite status. The minimum height of an Evzone is 6 feet"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fustanella
"Fustanella (for spelling in various languages, see chart below) is a traditional skirt-like garment worn by men in the Balkans."

Even in Monkeydonia ;)

History
"The fustanella appears to have evolved from the Roman toga; many statues of Roman emperors depict them wearing knee-length pleated kilts. In colder regions, more folds were added. Byzantine iconography depicts Akritan troops wearing a kilt resembling the fustanella.[3]
There are numerous other theories. It is thought by some that the modern fustanella originated in the Ottoman vilayet of Yanya. This vilayet comprised much of the region of Epirus (today divided between Greece (Epirus (periphery) and Albania) and was inhabited by a variety of populations, including Albanians, Greeks, Aromanians, Bulgarians and Turks. The use of the garment was probably spread by klephtic bands via Epirus into the rest Albania and Greece during the 18th and 19th centuries. Similar garments exist as part of the folk costume as far north as Romania and as far east as Syria, with nationalists on every side claiming the garment to be an indigenous creation. Similarities to historical garments in literature and on art objects make these claims difficult to prove or disprove.
One claim of an ancient link to the modern fustanella involves an ancient statue dated from the 3rd century BCE in Kerameikon (a part of Athens to the northwest of the Acropolis). Another claim involves a small figure from the 5th century BCE in Slovenia.[4] Another one was found in the outskirts of the ancient Greek city of Epidamnus (modern Durrs, Albania).[5] Yet another claim involves the statue carved in a niche in the Cave of Archedemos the Nympholept, near Mount Hymettus in Athens, which statue wears a fustanella-like garment and has been dated to c. 500 BCE. Archedemos, although living in Athens, came from the Spartan colony of Thera. This is why he carved himself wearing the Dorian tunic. The Dorian tunic was also a garment of Kouretes."

They want to claim the Macedonia name, others want to claim the national costume, they even want part of Greece. They even want to migrate to Greece.
This as usual should be defended, but we must not forget, through their claims they want to be Greek. It is a compliment.
Unfortunately while their ancestors struggled to use a stick to dig up grubs, the Greeks struggled and developed the concepts which are laid down as the foundation of the free world today.
History will not change, there have never been many Greeks in the world, as nature and other races tore at the Greeks, but they are still there today fighting the good fight.
Let them claim what is Greek, they will never be able to achieve it, but remember in trying to mimic the Greeks they pay homage to a race greater than their own

I have just looked at this link, they are not Albanians, they are circus workers dressed imitating the Greeks.
Surely the Albanians aren't claiming these are typical Albanians, esp after all their hype at what an attractive race they are.
Shit, you can't have it both ways

you will argue day and night that some Ancient Macedonians "spoke" Greek and that's why they must have been Greeks, you will point out that they "had Greek Names" and that makes them Greek, but than again you fail to require the same thing from the Turk Christian Prosfigas. How many of them had siposedly Greek Names?

That's what Tito thought when he renamed Vardarska Banovina to "Macedonia".He thought that Macedonians and the rest of the Greeks do not exist. But Macedonians are still alive , brave and proud of their greekness and are defending it against Skopian propagandists .

Yes, you are right. Macedonians are alive and kicking. On the both side of the border. And that is reality.
