filippos/philippos/philip means horse lover
"macedonian" has nothing to do with it
phil or fil or filos means friend
ippos means horse
live with it
so yeah, in greek at least, it means horse lover

And in Bulgarian or Srbian or German or who ever want's to talk about horse loving has their way to do it.
But what all those languages have to do with true meaning in original language of nation of people to whom Macedonian kings belonged?
The translation in any language should be from Macedonian language.
Instead historians spread the Greek meaning?
TRhats stiling, and worst, chainging history, shainging the meaning of tradition, language and castom made civilisation.

philippos is originally a greek name, but it is used in many other languages as well
in other languages it doesn't mean anything

PS, I rather say I don't know, insted of using another peoples language.
So Filos and Ipos.
Interesting.
So what you are saying, if on monet says Filipos,
they are talking about loving horse.
SWhy would anybody print money with those words.
I hope it does not mean mockery of the name King Filip. By the way, Macedonian word for peace of bread is Filia. Maybe there is a conection.
Just making small ta;lk.

Makedon does not mean horse lover, the correct translation from the antic is 'rather partial of little ponies'. Small pigmy horses fit for a tribe of little dumb slav people like Gruevski and Ivanov.

Every ancient text IS, Macedonian text.
You can just berely translate it, using the words from Koine,
which is stil in your language of the region.
Only one thing Greeks do not understand, and that is
Macedonian grammer. BC and AD.
