HI all,

I am a Portuguese living in Singapore for a short while and I would love to spend some time travelling around some of the more deserted parts of the Pacific. The goal is to meet local indegenous people, enjoy their way of living, do some line fishing and photo. Diving if possible too.

Ideally I would fly somewhere and then travel from island to island by boat. I have some experience sailing. And I have no need for hotel beds.

I am planning to go sometime next year after March to avoid the wet season. What's the best period? How easy and safe is it to travel around Kiribati?

Any suggestions or ideas welcomed.

thanks for your help

The e-Kiribati are wonderful people. I have been there as volunteer four times and looking forward to going again early next year.

thanks for your advise, but can you tell me if it's easy to travel from island to island, to deserted island and stay there some time?

Any dangers I should be aware of?

thanks again

Hi Goncalo
There is no danger while visiting Kiribati, it is easy to travel from Island to Island as there are lots of ships and also private airplane company....there is a ferry that route to most of the island in Kiribati. and if you want to visit Christmas Island...that where is a place to catch bone fish....the biggest world record from USA...cheers
