I would place Africans fully to model minority status, but Nigerians, who make up the most African subpopulation in the US can be serious scammers and liars. You don't believe me, look at how much the US loses in scams each year. But if given the right statistics, I'm open to re-evaluating this.

Let's not be so quick to place Asians and whites in the same boat. I see Asians get discriminated against all the time. Especially in the intellectual community. The reason you won't hear much about it is because Asians are more subdued and tend not to be as vocal about some things.

I've had bad experiences with black Americans as well, especially black females. Not all of them are bad. To this day, my most positive experiences have come from overseas Asians and Africans.

And where does it say *who* did the scams? I could say the same thing about whites and black americans.

Look the stats up.

This is teh case in a number of European countries, too.

I'm sorry but I have posted the stats too many times. It seems people are just too brainwashed to thinking of Africans as "primative" or in despair.(There are problems in Africa, but they are little compared to all Africa is and has to offer. Don't get me wrong, these are some dangerous times and issues.)

a) they're not a minority
b) they're scammers (some of them), too

I think Africans should seriously be commended. I can actually say the smartest people I've met in graduate school were of African descent. They are smart and work hard.

If you can find a similar scamming issue with Asians, I'll proudly renig. I just know the statistics on Nigerians and the scams they run don't lie. That's the only thing keeping them from "model minority status".

To tell you the truth, I really don't even care for the "model minority" phrase. I was responding to the post. Every race has their issues and problems. My use of the word is in a relative sense. The Africans I know actually are more successful than the white Americans I know.

In case you didn't know, large parts of Africa are in serious trouble. If we are in denial about that, we can't solve the problem. I myself am thinking of ways we can help them. They need it much worse than the blacks in America.

i read i cooking book by african chief and his book was talking about how food from africa is similar to african american food in the south and my dear a lot black from usa are going back to west african food diet cause his better for healt dont u see how beautyful they are , did u know every natio can eat the same thing cause or our blood rate if u eat like white already se the result on blck or like asian the will be consequense on on or healt u dont see the dont have the same king of body it d the food the eat and we eat who give them the shape but,,, what i wanted to say if u doesnt practice or possede or share the food ,music bref same culture,than us so u not african american it s what we share who makes who we are african american its a cultural groupe not a color.

Yes, Africans like Asians are a model minority. The statistics are on wikipedia for those of you who doubt the facts. The only reason Asians are autmoatically associated with the "Model Minority Title" is because whites can't stand to see blacks in better off postions than themselves.

As for all Africans being scammers, obviously you haven't been a recipient of a scam letter from the Natinal Bank of HONG KONG.
