Then they will start next war.Well it's all going to collapse like a ton of bricks in the looming Depression.

Because those who ignore the lessons of history are condemned to repeat them. |

America didn't start this war. We didn't end up dropping A-bombs on Hiroshima and Kokura because we felt like it. We'd lost a lot of men in bitter fighting that we didn't seek.

You hadn't lost the men nor dropped the bombs when you started the war. |

Umm the WAR is over long time ago dudes :-) In case you did not realize even after the nuke dropped on Japan, the Japanese climbed up to become the second biggest economy in the world from NOTHING! They dont even have any natural resources to export. And the Japanese and Yankees are now the Best Allies. Japanese made a great mistake at PH but WTF, that is War, shit happens, but they quickly learned from that mistake and made great progress to where they are today. You guys should chill out and move forward!

Did we drop a bomb on Kokura?
|
|
Naw, Kokura survived because it was obscured by smoke, so the pilot went to the next target, Nagasaki. Kokura had lots of hardened military bunkers, though, so it would have made a much better test for the bomb...bummer. While the smoke has normally been attributed to the firebombing of nearby cities, there is speculation that, having been warned of city-destroying bombs, and because Kokura was a vital military center for the Japanese, that the smoke was being generated intentionally to obscure the city. Oddly, Nagasaki (and Hiroshima too... honestly) is one of the prettiest cities in Japan now... maybe Japan would be full of pretty cities now if the US had dropped more nukes... just a thought. As it is, Japanese cities are typically some of the ugliest blights on the face of the planet. |

"This is a special way of being afraid
No trick dispels. Religion used to try, That vast moth-eaten musical brocade Created to pretend we never die, And specious stuff that says No rational being Can fear a thing it will not feel, not seeing That this is what we fear — no sight, no sound, No touch or taste or smell, nothing to think with, Nothing to love or link with, The anaesthetic from which none come round." :) Koko wa nihon nan da yo! temee no kuni ni kaette yari na! |

But the male animal, like it or not, has evolved to fight. Sport is modern society's way of channelling that instinctive urge.
It's not until the Japanese learn to say "banzai" with the kimigayo again, in the samurai spirit of Shirase and Tojo not the Fascist philosophy, that the Japanese rugby team will ever get anywhere. |

Economically, Japan doesn't know what's going to hit it: it's a powerhouse of technology about to be bought up cheap during the coming recession. Looks like the Americans will win plan B as well.

Yep, it's true. Venture capitalists are waiting like vultures to pounce on the hundreds of specialist, high-quality, high-tech firms that abound in Japan.
Suddenly you'll see quality drop and big Japanese companies will no longer have their treasure-house of superb sub-contractors. They'll have all been bought up by some American pension fund and production shifted to low-paid workers in China producing low-quality versions of the Japanese widget. |

Looks like everyone is flocking to Japan for liquidity - one of the benefits of a high savings rate is that they have money. I think Japan might end up owning a lot more of US than vice versa. I do not know if this is a very good thing in the long run though..... The depression has started!! |
